Pet care experience
I've provided care for many different types of dogs and cats for more than 10 years, and so while I'm new to Rover, I really understand that every pet is special and different, and I value the specific care instructions that each owner provides. This most came into focus when my mother fulfilled a long-held dream and adopted a Shepherd-Chow rescue named Benton. While my previous experiences largely involved housebroken, people-friendly pets, for the first years he was with us, Benton was still a street dog at heart — he would try to eat anything that touched or resembled food (regardless of whether it would put him in the hospital), he snapped at most men and he would battle anyone for a piece of food dropped on the floor. But my mother — who had trained with a vet — showed me how proper discipline, training and love can help overcome the challenges of rough instincts bred by a harsh childhood. Now, at ten years old, Benton has mostly mellowed, though at times his "street dog" tendencies still take over. I'm sharing his story because it demonstrates my learned belief that even dogs who come from tough backgrounds can come into their own with proper discipline and love and that I have the informal training to handle most situations that a dog can throw at the person caring for him or her. When I’m caring for others’ pets, I understand the importance of communication — you can expect a daily picture of your pet to keep him or her close to your heart. I’m dependable, well-organized and punctual, especially understanding the importance of timely walks and medications. I am happy to bring in your mail, water your plants, feed other small animals or take care of any other housesitting chores. I work well with elderly animals with special needs but am also a great running partner for high-energy dogs.

Liz is a pleasure to work with and our dog just <3s her
I can't think of a more responsible and reliable young woman than Liz. I have known Liz and her family since she was born, From middle school through high school and college at Brown University Liz demonstrated remarkable organizational skills and self-discipline to achieve at the highest level. She is very self-reliant, traveling out of the country on her own, hiking and exploring. Liz watched my dogs and house sat while I traveled. I knew they were in good hands, well-cared for and entertained. I wouldn't hesitate for one minute to have her care for my dogs. Rover customers are really fortunate to have Liz join their team.

Information Liz C. would like to know about your pet
I lie to know about any tics or aggressive tendencies so I know if there are situations in which I should be extra alert or take extra care. While I only have experience administering oral medication, I am happy to learn to adapt to other medical needs.
A typical day
I love walks (long and short), and I love to run with a high-energy dog! I've also worked with disabled and elderly dogs and can plan activities around their special needs.
