Animal shelter volunteer and foster

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Liz. I LOVE dogs. When I first moved to ATL 3 years ago I missed my family dogs so much I started volunteering at Atlanta Humane Society where I became a foster and later started fostering with Paws Atlanta. I dog and home sit for many local families and will be happy to connect you for references. Let me love your dogs while you are away. I am not ready to adopt my own dog so I want to continue to foster and help other homeless dogs get adopted. In the in-between times I love to dog sit and just be around dogs. I am kind, easy going and responsible. During the day I work at Emory University in division of Campus Life.

Liz is AWESOME! She was able to watch my puppy last minute, which was super accommodating. She took Cleo on some fun field trips and spent time with her at home. Liz is great with communication and sent me updates. Cleo came home a relaxed and happy puppy- highly recommend!

Liz has watched our 2 (used to be 3...) large dogs several times, including staying overnight in our house while we were gone for more than a week. She kept our overly-exhuberant dog for several nights when we brought our baby home. Both of our dogs LOVE her, even the one who is generally aloof with everyone. I never worry about our dogs when Liz is here, because I know she treats them just like we do! Sshe was so gentle & patient with our old dog who passed away. She was also strong enough to lift him when needed. In short, Liz is fantastic with dogs: sweet & loving & fun, but also practical & confident. She knows how to handle large, spirited dogs gently. I highly recommend her!

Information Liz C. would like to know about your pet

I definitely want to know any medical issues your dog is experiencing. I am well versed in dispensing medications, applying ointments and preparing special meals (fish oil, bone broth etc) I would like to know your dogs disposition and general attitude. I have worked with all kinds of personalities so as long as you let me know of any issues or special instructions I will be able to handle it. All breeds welcome. I am a sucker for mutts and pit type dogs (basically most of the dogs in the shelter)

A typical day

I love taking pups for walks in the neighborhood, on the belt line and for hikes (if energy level permits). While fostering with Paws Atlanta, one of the main goals was to get the dog out in the public to hopefully catch the eye of a potential adopter, so I am very comfortable taking your dog out to the park or restaurants, or just curling up on the couch together.
