Pet care experience
Firstly, I'd like to make clear my passion for all pets, big or small, furry or not. I find animals to be innately wonderful, and pets to have a special connection with us and the way we move through and experience our world. I think every moment of a pet's life should be filled with the joy they fill us with, and that's why you can trust your pets with me :) My personal experience with pets and animals: in addition to being a pet owner myself my entire life, I have also taken care of the pets of friends, neighbors and family members while they are away for my entire adult life and my teenage years as well. Family comes to me for advice and for nail trims and baths, as well as daytime care for their animals. -------------------------------- As far as my professional experience, it is accumulatively 8 years in total, and I think it would be helpful to describe the roles I have had in the past. Adoption Services Lead – 4/2017-4/2018 Animal Humane Society, St. Paul, MN Work duties included play, enrichment, socializing, getting to know the animals, as well as cleaning work like litter boxes and cleaning the kennels and play yards. Lab Animal Attendant – 9/2015-9/2016 University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN Duties included poviding enrichment, play, exercise, and performing daily health checks on animals including dogs and cats. Cage, kennel and run cleaning. Boarding Coordinator – 6/2013-7/2015 Boarding Lead – 10/2012-6/2013 Now Boarding, Minneapolis, MN Duties included contacting clients regarding animal health and behavior concerns, from both daycare and boarding injuries as well as any apparent illnesses or refusal to eat or socialize, also scheduling appointments for and transporting animals to veterinary appointments in emergencies. Other tasks included grooming and medication administration. Boarding and Daycare Specialist – 10/2009-10/2012 Now Boarding, Minneapolis, MN I was responsible for feeding and medicating, following owner instructions, and supervising and managing large groups of dogs (up to 45 at a time supervised by 4 staff members together). What was especially important and fun for me about the job was getting to know clients' pets on a personal level so I would know how to treat them individually and what to expect from them in different situations. -------------------------------- -------------------------------- Currently I work part time (11 hours per week), my schedule there is Mon. 3pm-8pm and Friday 3pm-9pm. I work very close to my home. If your pets need walks/outs or medication during that time, my husband, Chris, is able to take care of those things if you are comfortable. Other than that my schedule is open, and we can go over details during a Meet-and-Greet. -------------------------------- My routine for my clients is to follow as closely as I can their own routine at home, as well as it coordinates with my schedule, at least maintaining similar conditions for eating and potty breaks whether that includes certain times and walks and/or yard time (and of course play and cuddles when they want it). I am sometimes available to stay overnight in the home as well (we can discuss) and will always be happy to water plants, get mail, etc. We'll schedule a meet and greet to exchange keys, go over your pets' routine and tour the house. --------------------------------
Reviews
Lisa was great. My small dog requires an insulin shot twice a day and she is also blind , so her care is more involved. Lisa took great care of her. Would definitely recommend!
Lisa took great care of our pup and our home!
Lisa was amazing while watching our two dogs over thanksgiving week. I would recommend her to anyone and you can absolutely put your trust in her to take great care of your beloved pets!
Lisa was wonderful with my elderly dog and my cat. She stayed in the house overnight while I was away. She gave my girl a nail trim, cleaned inside her ears and cleaned up any accidents Sadie had. It put my mind at ease knowing she was there and that my pets were in good hands. THANK YOU, Lisa!

I love to set up a meet-and-greet prior to caring for your pet so please schedule one with me if possible. I will come to you to see your routine, exchange keys, etc. Basically the more I know about your animal the better. What times do you feed and walk them-- how flexible is the timing on those? Do they ever have accidents? Let me know if your dog has difficulty eating while away from your or while you are away, or gets overstimulated during certain times. Where does your pet like to go? If walking or sitting, feel free to provide a favorite route or spot. I'm also willing to do trips to the dog park as well, for an added $25 per trip. Does your pet have any special diet needs or allergies? Can I provide treats to your pet or should I only use ones you provide me? Where is your vet? What is their phone number? If your dog or cat has any medical needs or special behavior items I am still happy to work with you and them. In my boarding and lab experience I have given every kind of medication you can think of to animals of various temperaments, so they are safe in my hands. Like I said, the more you tell me the better, feel free to write a whole novel- I love when my clients leave reminder notes about everything. P.S. If you or anyone in your household is unvaccinated I ask you wear a mask when meeting with me. I am vaccinated and boosted. -------------------------------- For grooming requests, I start with $20 for a nail trim, $30 for a nail grind, and $45 for a bath (with brushing). You can provide shampoo or I have some free of charge. Depending on the size of your dog and your dog's hair type and behavior, I may raise or lower this price. *Some dogs hair types are beyond my expertise* I can do anal glad expression for $10 added on to the bath. If you don't add on grooming I will do my best to spot-clean with natural water-free pet shampoo and wiping down paws as needed. I also do brush outs as needed for free or a small fee (depends on the condition and hair type).
A typical day
Your dogs (and other pets) will receive socializing, attention, and exercise to meet their individual needs! We will discuss and go over everything at the Meet and Greet. I will try to schedule around your pets' normal routine as much as possible. For playtime, I cater to the individual pet. Let me know if you have special walking routes, if your dog is reactive on walks and what their favorite toys and games are. --------------------------------
