I have always loved animals since I was a child. We had a few dogs and cats growing up. I rescued my first dog at around 22, he was living under the freeway. Chow Shepard mix took months till he trusted me enough to let me touch him. We have had 3 easy loving labs that have since passed away. We now have 2 Chessies and if you know chessies they can be the exact opposite of a lab, hard headed but usually very velcro. We visited Cuba New Year 2019 and a little cuban dog decided to jump up on my lap and sleep for several hours. I haven't owned any little dogs but she won our hearts and is now a member of the family. I have always wanted to volunteer more and started volunteering for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever Rescue in 2017. I'm a Regional Director in the NW and have dozens of amazing dedicated volunteers that make our rescue successful. Since there are several states in my region most of what I do is coordinating volunteers. But I have done several dog evaluations, transports, home visits and fostering too. I am responsible  for finding perfect homes, coaching fosters and new adopters. I have been through a 9 week dog training course in 2019 I am just recently retired so I have more time to do things I like to do such as spending times with dogs. We are trying out the snowbird life style summers in the NW and winters in the South. Would be happy to help pet owners who are working out of the home or traveling and need someone to walk, play or feed their pets I'm may be willing to travel farther than 15 miles for additional fee We live on a small lake in Tahuya, if I was dog sitting there would be lots of swimming and leashed walks on the trails. We have field fence about 4 feet high, a large outdoor kennel or crate if needed but If I dog sat on our property dog would be with me most of the time
