Being an Occupational Therapist and working with children with special needs is a rewarding job and a blessing. My other passion is to interact with dogs and nature as much as possible when not working. I believe dogs are therapy for humans. Interacting with dogs and nature is my way to replenishing my energy and spirit. All the stress and anxieties of the daily grind can be forgotten and filled with unconditional positive regard, fun and love with dogs The passion for animals/dogs started as a very young child. Being an only child was lonely so any time there was an opportunity to interact with animals in general, that was where the love of connecting to nature began. Growing up on a farm with an Irish Setter named “Pretty Boy” was an awesome experience. Hours were spent being occupied by feeding, grooming, training and going on hikes daily on the farm. Presently, I have a smart energetic Jack a Bee named Lucy. She is always an adventure. She has gone on several hikes, walks and enjoys a game of fetch any time of day. Lucy has a little shih tzu mix elderly roommate named “Little” who enjoys walking around the backyard and sun bathing. Being a Humane Society Volunteer/Foster has been fun because there are a variety of dog breeds to love, play and interact with on a personal basis. I hope to get an opportunity to interact with your dog through walking or pet sitting!
