Ever since I remember I have wanted to be cuddled up with puppies or going on a walk with my dog. Dogs are the best! They each have such different personalities, they are the best listeners, they are a beautiful creation, they love unconditionally, they are family members, and they really do provide such emotional comfort to their owners. They are the best furry companions in my opinion. I grew up in the country with Goldens, Labs, mutts, horses, cats and even chickens. I also grew up riding horses competitively for years. In the country we would all take turns care for each others dogs and various animals. Hard labor jobs such as cleaning stalls and feeding cows is every day work out there. I volunteered at a horse barn for kids with special needs and I would help train the horses and there were always kind barn pups running around that also needed love and training. In the past 7 years though I have lived with only my own dog Pippin. I now live with roommates and they have the cutest Corgi named Bosco! We play tug-of-war together daily. I am excited to meet more pups to play with. I am a nurse and value honest, responsible work. I could not be a professional trauma nurse if I could not take responsibility for my actions. I am very organized and write to-do lists for myself everyday to ensure things get done and I never forget tasks.I also keep a schedule and write down when I am going to do things to ensure they are accomplished. I am kind-hearted and empathize with people. I love my job and getting to impact lives directly. Many times people would say my job is sad due to working with traumatic situations that change people's lives. Yes, it is sad. But it is an honor to be a support and listening ear to people as they deal with very vulnerable situations in life. I am honored to do the work I do. I love my own dog as a family member and I would expect no less from a caretaker. Since I have high standards for my dog watchers, I would have the same or higher standards when I myself am caring for another person's loved pet. I am a nurse and treat patients with similar diseases. However, each patient has different preferences and complications so their plan of care needs to be individualized. In the same way, I would want to provide individualized care to each furry pup.
