Teacher by day, sitter by night!

Pet care experience

I have had pets my whole life! After adopting my beautiful boxer, Rigby in 2009, I fostered with Boxer Rescue LA for several years, working with a diverse group of boxers. I currently am dog mom to two (well adjusted) adopted Boston Terriers, Remy Lou and Rufus James.

She was an absolute perfect host! Took very good care of my high energy pup and has a beautiful clean home! Felt very reassured knowing our boy was in good hands. Thank you again! And for the soup

Ling-ka has taken care of my pups many times over the years, and I can recommend her 200%! She has a calm, peaceful, patient way about her that my two rescues gravitate towards. Plus, she is a trained massage therapist, which they love to take full advantage of. She has a very clean, lovely home with a spacious, grassy backyard that is perfect for them to run around in, too. She is a fantastic and reliable resource.

Ling-Ka has been a trustworthy helper in our home for years. Most recently I hired her to help us with our exotic pets (water frogs) while we are out of town because I trust that she will pay attention to the details of their unique needs. She always makes sure that our animals are well cared for and that our house is locked up appropriately. We will continue to use her in the future and highly recommend her to others.

Ling Ka took such great care of our two pets, and we could really enjoy our time away! She kept us updated with lots of pictures of our kids playing in the back yard with her two cute dogs, and hanging out in their beautiful designer home.

Safety, trust & environment

I take dog sitting very seriously! When dogs are in my home, they are treated like guests! I have an air conditioned home with a large fenced in backyard. My neighborhood is a lovely place for walks. The weekends that I am dog sitting, I will be carefully socializing my dogs with my clients' dogs. When dogs are visiting, I plan to only be away only 2-3 hours at a time. Safety is very important to me, therefore pre-hosting meet and greets are required. Having worked with fosters and rescues I know how important it is to make sure that dogs can decompress when in a new place. My own dogs are crate trained and I prefer to only sit for dogs that are crate trained. I find that it is safer overall, especially when dogs are new to one another or in a new place. When walking my dogs, I choose to walk each one separately, to better protect them in case of an emergency. If I am walking your dog, I plan to do the same. My own dogs sleep in my bed (most nights) but are trained to sleep in their crate as needed. I hope that if a frequent visitor, your dogs can do the same.

Information Ling-Ka B. would like to know about your pet

Before our visit, I need to know if your dog has ever had any food or toy aggression, or if they generally prefer to be alpha. My dogs are very accommodating... but this knowledge will help with their interactions during their stay. I would like to know what practice or behaviors are most comforting to your dog when in a new situation. Also, please let me know how far your dog likes to walk daily. All age appropriate vaccinations must be up to date.

A typical day

We will walk, we will play, and by god, we will snuggle! Each day we will have breakfast, walk or have supervised play in the backyard, decompress and chill with some snuggle time, enjoy a long afternoon walk through the Park Santiago neighborhood, eat dinner, and end the day with more snuggles and sleepytime! During the night, my dogs often need to have a bathroom break, so middle of the night potty times are usual for me!
