Young, active, outdoorsy dog-mom!

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Lindsey! I have grown up with large and small dogs my entire life. About two and a half years ago I rescued my best friend, Winnie Cooper. She is a Golden Retriever German Shepard mix and I treat her like my child. She is super friendly and extremely playful. I would love to help out other people/families in LA with their dogs since I have such a flexible schedule. I am extremely active and bring Winnie on multiple walks a day if not a small hike. I live 2 miles away from Runyon Canyon (off the leash hike) and would love to bring any dog there with approval. I am originally from St. Louis and moved here about two months ago with my sister (who will help care for any guests). We both have so much experience and love for dogs that we decided this would be a perfect idea.

I had booked Lindsey for three days while I went on a trip out of state. This was my very first time leaving my puppy with a sitter and I will say.... I will NEVER book her again. I thought she would have been a good match with my dog since she had a bigger dog herself and she said she goes out a lot. I was very wrong. I met her a couple days before with Kylo so we could meet and the dogs could meet as well. I even bought a kennel for when Kylo would stay with her but she insisted that it was unecessary and that there was nothing that he could really chew up that mattered. Okay, so some people are against kennels so I didn't think much of it. I gave Lindsey specific instructions. Told her that he's good with other dogs and people and that if left alone in the room he might try and chew something. K... now I leave for Seattle and as soon as I get off my flight I get a message saying that it was "her bad" for saying no to the kennel. She had locked him in a room with a bag of dog food and he ended up eating the ENTIRE bag. I'm sorry but if you're watching a PUPPY you should know not to leave a bag of food out and leave it in the open when you lock him in the room. I thought that she would know that puppys are indeed mischievous and need to be watched. Well she just followed up with pictures of him outside and what looked like just an enclosed area because he was not on his leash and said he looked fine. When a puppy eats an ENTIRE bag of food there is no way he would be just fine and mind you, she also said that it looked like he chewed something up but didn't know if he ate anything when I asked her. I should have seen the red flags. The reviews looked promising but I was terribly mistaken. Well.. following that.. Lindsey texted me that Kylo was now using the bathroom everywhere and not getting along with the other dogs she was watching.. (She decided to watch 3 other dogs along with Kylo that I had no idea about) She asked if I could have someone come get him... If that were the case I wouldn't have hired a Rover. She sent me pictures of his diarrhea and said that he was not at all potty trained and he was not getting along with the dogs and that she couldn't have him there. I told her it was probably because he was sick and he is very much so potty trained. I asked that she call me back and of course no answer and actually told me not to call if I couldn't have someone go get him. I apologized to her that that was going on but that it sounded like he was getting irritable and using the bathroom everywhere because he was sick and she told me that he was fine and that if I knew he was that destructive I should have just brought the crate. She takes no responsibility for her lack of care and had she come to me in a different manner maybe I would have not written this drawn out review. But I think people need to know where they are dropping off their pups. I dont know about other people.. but my puppy is like my child. I was worried and he obviously didn't get cared for staying here. She was in over her head with all the dogs there and it was obvious she was not watching him at all. She disregarded all of my requests, couldnt even call me so I could stop worrying.. and then had me run around trying to find someone to come pick him up. WARNING.. if you have a puppy, a dog with medical needs, specific care instructions, and want to be reassured that your dog is well.. DONT GO TO HER. if you have low maintenance dogs that just need a pat here and there maybe. My dog is still sick after 3 days and is now being taken to the vet since I'm back. Thank GOD for my friends who came through. She also had the AUDACITY to tell my friends that she couldn't handle him becaue he wasn't getting along with the dogs. Really disappointed Lindsey. I suggest you read up on puppy care if you plan on watching other peoples pets.

Lindsey and Winnie were great with Bentley! I felt totally comfortable leaving Bentley with them, knowing that he would have a blast with Winnie. I really appreciate all the walks Lindsey took Bentley on and all of the photo and video updates she sent me. She kept me up to date with every detail and I loved it. I'm looking forward to having Lindsey take care of Bentley on my next vacation!

Lindsey was so great! Very sweet and attentive to Dillon and so involved with his care. We got multiple pictures a day, so we didn't feel like we were missing out or that Dillon was AWOL. The fact that she has her own dog really put us at ease since she would know exactly what to do in case anything happened, but also wouldn't panic if he did something typical of a dog. Really though, so great!

Lindsey and her dog, Winnie, are fantastic! It was so great knowing my dog would have such a friendly companion through the day in addition to all the walks and hikes Lindsey took him on. She sent pictures and daily updates, and was incredibly accommodating in pickups and drop offs. I'll definitely use her to care for my dog whenever I need!
