Experienced Pet Sitter/ Dog Walker
Pet care experience
Whether you are looking for someone to take your friend on a quick walk or are hoping to establish a relationship with a long-term sitter you can trust for your next vacation or day trip, I hope you will consider me! I am a dog owner of a rambunctious, loving Aussie shepherd/ Collie mix and a sassy maltipoo and have experience with dogs, cats, small birds, bunnies, and fish. Sorry, no reptiles please! I am a full-time grad student currently in an internship at Duke, so early mornings before 8 or evenings after 4p are times I am consistently available for your pet care needs. On many days, I can arrange a brief drop in mid-day as needed. Just ask! Fridays- Sundays I like to allow extra playtime, outdoor time as requested. I am also open to providing overnight care in your home with advance notice. I like to do a home visit first to ensure your expectations are met and we are a compatible fit. Of course, In the event of messy play time, I am comfortable providing a bath for non-aggressive pets only and don't mind litter box changes or habitat maintenance with clear instructions. Reviews
During a recent visit with family in Asheville I had an accident and was unable to walk Mollie our Golden Retriever. That’s when working through Rover.com we met Lindsey. Lindsey immediately put my wife, me, and Mollie at ease with her calm, caring demeanor, in fact, Mollie was quite taken with her. For the next couple of days Lindsey took Mollie for half hour walks, exercising her and ensuring Mollie’s needs were taken care of. Lindsey was outstanding, so friendly and kind. My brother who lives in Asheville and has two dogs of his own, was so taken by Lindsey’s skill at working with Mollie that he has become a fan of Rover.com too!

Information Lindsey C. would like to know about your pet
For first time clients, I like to arrange an initial visit/ chat to review expectations and ensure you are able to rest easy in your travels. Eating habits, “bathroom” habits, medication administration, and environmental preferences are foundational, including desire or demand for socialization. It is my goal to maintain routines you have established with your pets as consistency (and exercise) is key to a happy, healthy, secure animal, alleviating behavioral and anxiety issues. If your animal prefers a friend, my Collie is 55 pounds of sweet and social, and enjoys open spaces, and is calming company for the adventure. I’m happy to schedule a brief meetup when we discuss your family’s needs.
A typical day
I provide 15 min- 1 hour walks (dependent on energy level, age, breed) and keep pets local to their immediate environment when adequate side walks and pet friendly spaces are available. With owner permission, I enjoy taking field trips downtown for walks or car rides. Tricks for treats, building trust, and bonding time is important in the beginning to bring ease to your animal while you’re away.

Availability
I work mostly from home during the week. On weekends, I enjoy taking a little extra time to adventure (per owner’s consent) and am happy to visit favorite locations within a reasonable radius. A usual schedule looks like… 1. AM 30 minute walk/ feeding between 6:30-8:30am 2. A mid-day 15-30 minute potty break/ play time 3. PM 30 min- 1 hour evening walk/ feeding/ playtime/ bedtime (all before 10pm, please) I am happy to customize this to your pet’s current schedule, and with a heads up, most likely can provide an additional visit in the case of puppies/ older animals.
