Aside from being a loving and mindful caretaker for my own pups since 1997, I have a long history of professional work with dogs and cats. I realized my love for working with animals when I got my first job in the field in 1999, as a kennel tech at a vet clinic, caring for the ill and injured dogs and cats that were boarding at the clinic- a responsibility that was utterly satisfying. From there I began working at and then managing a dog daycare (in 2002, when the concept was still quite new!) and thought I had found my calling. However, after becoming disheartened by how many smaller, older, and more mellow dogs were unhappy in the busy daycare setting, I started my own in-home pet sitting business that I joyfully and gratefully ran for 10 years, ending in 2011. Although I thought of it as a true honor to care for so many wonderful animals for all those years, I moved out of Colorado in 2012 and on to other professional adventures. Now I'm very settled back in Denver, flexibly working from home, and I'd love to begin caring for a few special dogs and cats in my area! Regardless of where I am in my life and what I'm doing professionally, animals remain my passion, and connecting with them brings me more joy than anything else in my life. I'm "one of those animal people" who prioritizes the well being of my dog companions and has complete respect and patience for these magical beings that I'm fortunate to have in my life- I'd love to extend that same loving care to more of Denver's dogs and cats. I have experience administering most meds to dogs and cats, including providing sub q fluids and daily insulin injections. One of my own pups is disabled with mobility issues and incontinence, so I've got experience and endless patience and compassion with special needs. I've also got a total tenderness for seniors and love to provide them with any tailored care they call for in their golden years.
