I have had pets my entire life. I’ve personally had/cared for dogs/puppies (small, medium, and large), cats/kittens, outdoor cats, chameleons, rabbits, hamsters, rats, mice, leopard geckos, snakes, the list goes on I’m sure. Hah. I love animals of all shapes and sizes. I’m a previous pet owner who lost my chihuahua to old age and looking to fill my time and help someone out as well. Also, I’m a Dentist with a rare condition that is hindering me from working in my current occupation so I figured no better way to spend my day than to be with a furry friend. I get great joy from walking daily and LOVE pets. I’d guess my CPR license for humans (big and small, which is currently active for another year and a half) doesn’t carry over to pets, but my response to emergency is still on point. Oh I also used to work in an animal shelter for 4 hours a week for a year or so when I was in high school. I have been able to teach and train many pets different skills. Mocha, my chihuahua loved clothes during cold months. Oh, he also wore a harness so I know how to use both collars and harnesses as well as how to operate different leashes. I’m not at all disgusted by pet poop, vomit, spit/slobber, etc. (trust me I’ve seen a lot through my years of dentistry). I’m fully vaccinated and a COVID survivor. Heh. About my home: I live at my parents home in a 2900 sq ft single family home. There are no small children or pets other than my parents 1.5 year old Aussie named Bella. My brother will occasionally drop off his blue heeler/Aussie mix for a weekend or so and I do watch my neighbors dog from time to time (she is also an Aussie). We have a moderate sized fenced in yard in the back with a large couch, ottoman, 2 lounge chairs, and a dining table. We recently put down pavers on a large part of our backyard but we still have a nice big strip of grass out back for peeing and pooping. It is a two story home and my bedroom is on the first floor. If your pet is unable to do stairs, no problem, I can put up the doggie gate. We are located 0.25 miles from the beach and 0.5 miles to Canova dog beach (if your doggie likes to interact with other doggies and you want me or my parents to take your furbaby there, just let us know). If your furbaby is staying with us they will go on a minimum of 3 walks a day (15-30 minutes in the morning, afternoon, and night time after meals/before bed) and have unlimited access to the outside as desired. If there’s anything you’d like to change in our routine to better fit your furbaby’s needs please don’t hesitate to inform us so we can tailor fit your furbaby’s experience. When I am booked for house sitting at another clients house, my parents will take a pup in to their home to help you get top of the line care (by someone other than me). We are a pet loving and caring family and both my parents and myself love furbabies of all shapes and sizes. We truly love and cherish every moment with your furbabies. We will cuddle them, hug them, sleep with them (if needed and or if we are able to), love on them and give them all the pets and affection they need while you’re away. If I am house sitting for you, please have a typed out description of required duties (or text it to me - I will give you my cell phone number as well), wake and sleep times, feeding times, walking times, any specifics of amount of food, medications, vitamins, probiotics, pets ability or inability to interact with neighboring pets, emergency number for a family member or friend and an emergency vet in the area (preferably someone your pup has see before, but not required) I of course will walk the pup 3 times a day for 15-30 minutes. $5 additional dollars will be added for each walk requested to be 30-60 minutes in length. If you have an outdoor fenced in yard I will let the furbaby out whenever needed. Since this is my only job, I will be able to focus most of my time on your furbaby. On occasion I will have appointments or preplanned outings which will require me to be gone from 2-4 hours. I rarely if ever will need to be away from your furbaby for longer than that (if I need to be there full time or with the dog with me at all times, no problem just let me know so I can give you an updated cost of stay). Since my boyfriend (of a 3 years) lives in another city, it is likely that he will be staying with me for some of my time at your home (I will always relay this information to you). That means you will have 2 caregivers for your pup a lot of the time. I will bring my own food, toiletries, and goods. I will always wash the sheets that are used during my stay and if time allows, I will remake the bed too. All your areas used by me will be cleaned to exactly how they were before or better (I’m a clean freak and will ensure you will be happy with a properly cleaned home for your arrival). It will appear as if you were never gone. I will bring in your mail daily, bring in any packages, water plants (if asked to), do the dishes, clean dry and fold any used linens, vacuum any used areas (just tell me where the vacuum is), wipe down and clean surfaces, take out the recycling and trash if I stay during those days (as long as you write down or text that information). I have absolutely no problem with you having cameras in your home, all I ask is I know where they are placed so I don’t change in a room or have a phone call in that room that requires privacy. I’m very easy going and understanding and happy to makes changes to my routine to better suit your furbabies needs. Please don’t hesitate to ask or tell :) Drop in visits - a drop in visit is when I come into your home and check on your pet. This entails letting your dog out back in your enclosed yard, feeding and giving fresh water to your furbaby, giving him/her medication, and of course giving copious amounts of pets and rubs and loves and hugs and holding (if able). If you need me to leave music or tv on please let me know. Also happy to give your pets a kong or treat if those things are left out visibly and that info is relayed in writing to me. If you’re wanting me to walk your pup for 10-15 mins that’s an extra $5 or for 20-30 minutes, an extra $10 or should be scheduled as walks instead. I am also happy to bring in your mail, water any plants as requested and even take out your trash bins or recycling bins (or bring them back in after the truck picks the items up). I will usually send multiple photos during my drop in to show you how great your furbaby is and to add to your collection of amazing pet photos (I truly enjoy photographing furbabies). Again, if I can do anything to help put your mind at ease when you’re away, please don’t hesitate to ask. If I’m walking your pet - essentially I will do all that is required for a drop in plus a walking of your pet usually from 20-30 minutes depending on the other requested items for my visit (listed above). If you’re wanting me to walk your dog longer than 30 minutes and I’m still feeding and doing the other duties like refilling water, bringing in the mail, bringing in packages, preparing a kong, etc, then you’ll need to select the 60 minute walk which will include a walk of 35-50 minute walk and all the other duties listed. Please let me know if there’s a designated route your dog prefers and the little specifics to make our walk a successful one (please see the above). If your pet doesn’t interact well with other people or dogs during walks just let me know and I’ll plan to avoid these irritants. I want your pet to feel loved and well exercised while you are away :)
