Where to begin? Dogs have brought me so much joy my entire life. From the time I can remember, I have always wanted a dog, yearned to understand dogs better, and wanted to be "one of the pack". At 16 I was given my first official dog sitting job. It came so naturally to me, and was something I simply just enjoyed. As the years have gone by, along with countless dog sitting jobs, the pure fun, love, and laughter has not diminished a bit. I still feel drawn and connected to pretty much every dog I meet. They are truly unique creatures, and I do my best to always approach new situations and relationships with patience, love, and an open mind. I have been more than blessed to have my wonderful dog in my life for a little over 10 years now. This has taught me so much on a deeper level about connecting and interacting with dogs. I hope to continue to bring this into all my future dog work. Some special skills I feel I have are a generally good sense of handling medical issues, and being able to intuit a dog's emotional and physical status. I have lived far enough away from a vet that I have learned how to address numerous medical needs. I interact with my dog just about all waking hours (he's part Heeler and rarely is found anywhere out of eye shot), along with his pack of 4 other dogs at home, a handful at our local barn, and many other travelling dog-friends we find on the way. I feel comfortable reading dogs in many different situations, and will care for them in a way that reflects that understanding. Although I have not officially made myself available for some of the other services, I am also open to house sitting, but am only able to do so if my dog is welcome to tag along. Also, if your dog enjoys dog company, he is available to join for walks and some play time. I do travel quite a bit, sometimes for months at a time. I would love to build repeat clients, but if having a stable person year round is something you are looking for, I may not be the best fit. I hope I have been able to shed some clarity on who I am and what type of care I can offer. Look forward to meeting lots of great dog people!
