Farm style vacation for your pup!
Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Lindsay and I have so much to offer your dog. I have two able-bodied human adults and two fun-loving dogs to befriend your dog; a 100 acre farm on which to go for walks; a smaller, but still large fenced in back yard; a dog door to access the back yard at any time; a ramp leading from the deck to the back yard for anyone with mobility issues; and a schedule that means your dog will not be left alone for very long, if at all. We walk our dogs (and yours if you let us) twice a day, and I am home all day most days, as I work from home. Our Place: I live on a 100 acre farm, full of horses and cows. We have trails to walk on all around the property, a lake, a pond, two springs, and a pool. We share the space with four other households, all of which also have dogs. This is an incredibly dog friendly farm, and your pup would probably have the time of his or her life! We live in a stand-alone home, with hard wood floors, rugs, and some carpet in the bedrooms. We have three couches, two armchairs, four dog beds, and one king human bed. There's lots of space to share. We have locked trash cans, a closed laundry room, and lots of blankets and pillows for pups. My Dogs: I grew up with a black lab from Greece who was my best friend. He passed away when I was in high school and my parents were too heartbroken to get another dog for many many years. I got my own dog, a Bluetick Coonhound named Bob, in 2010 from a no-kill shelter in Virginia. He had been living there for two and a half years, but nobody would adopt him because he wasn't immediately affectionate. I fell in love with him the minute he flopped his wrinkly face and long eared head in my lap. He taught me patience and trust and it broke my heart when he passed away from old age in the summer of 2016. Three years after adopting him I adopted my second dog, Luna, who is a bundle of joy and happy energy. She is a Border Collie / Australian Shepherd mix and she lives for the squirrel chasing, ball throwing, Frisbee throwing, gleeful running moments that make up her life. She had been in an abusive home, but was thankfully surrendered to a shelter. She was gentle and respectful of my older dog even when all she wanted to do was play, and all he wanted to do was sleep. In late 2016 our neighbor found an injured dog on the side of the road. I immediately took him to the vet and found out he had a broken pelvis. We nursed him back to health not expecting to be ready to permanently take in a second dog after my first dog had so recently passed away. But the more we got to know this new addition, the more we fell for him. We named him Zeke and he has livened up our household as he loves to run around and play with Luna. He's still learning his boundaries, but he has no aggression and has gotten along with every guest dog he's met. My experience administering medication I gave my older dog medication by mouth daily and a shot once every three weeks. I also have experience giving ear drops and eye drops and cleaning out wounds. I give Luna a subcutaneous shot every 3 weeks.
Reviews
Our experience was fantastic. Before we boarded our dogs with Lindsay for two weeks while away on vacation, we arranged for a meet and greet. Lindsay was happy to do this and we were able to make sure all the dogs got along just fine. The house is set up perfectly for dogs and it was obvious that she (and Josh) love dogs. We, along with our pups, felt pretty comfortable about the situation right away. While we were on vacation, Hurricane Irma was developing and soon hit Florida. Lindsay shared her hurricane plan with us and kept us updated as best she could in the days following. She provided lots of pictures during the entire two weeks and responded to all of our text messages. Upon pick-up, it was obvious that our dogs had been well cared for and that they enjoyed their own little holiday at Lindsay's house. We feel lucky to have connected with such an outstanding pet love on Rover.
Our dog was well taken care of and had a wonderful time . Lindsay was vey helpful and attentive to our dog. A fantastic and safe place to leave our pet. Thanks again for the great pictures and the care you gave to Dutchess. Will diffently use her again!!!
I believe that my dog may be happier staying with Lindsay than living with me. I'm unsure if that makes me happy or sad. Hahaha It's good to know that my dog was well loved. It was a dog paradise at Lindsay's house. There was plenty of walks and activity for our big pup! Thank you Lindsay for taking good care of Simba.
I can't imagine a better place to leave Annie while we're away! Thanks Lindsay!

Information Lindsay H. would like to know about your pet
No breed or size preferences. Cannot have any aggression. Other than things like his or her meal schedule, diet restrictions, and medication requirements, I'd love to know the little things that nobody else knows - like what's his/her favorite place in your home? How does he/she like to be petted? Is there a certain game that's an absolute favorite? What makes him/her calm? Is he/she afraid of thunderstorms?
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks We walk on the 100 acre farm we live on! We walk all around the farm, by horses, geese, a lake. When it's hot we stick to shaded areas, when it's not we go all over. We typically walk 30-40 minutes for each walk. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Anywhere you want him/her to. The only exception I can think of is if he or she is a really big dog there might just not be room on the bed. Time I'll spend with your dog Pretty much all day.
