Vet tech student, animal lover

Pet care experience

Experience, skills, training: - Currently working as a vet tech/assistant - In school to be a Registered Veterinary Technician - 8 years working with a local, professional pet sitting company - 8 months working at an animal sbelter - 1.5 years as a vet/kennel assistant (past) - 1.5 years at Petsmart (past) - Vet Assistant Certification from Penn Foster College - Pet first aid & CPR, and pet massage certification at Harford Community College - Fear Free certified in vet care - Can give many kinds of medications: pills, eye meds, ear meds, topicals, special diet, insulin, other sub-q injections, and sub-q fluids (with vet dosing/rx) - I have no problem working with dogs who are dog aggressive, have anxiety or behavior issues, health issues, or need to work on leash training :) - I am open to and have experience with various tools, training, and walking methods: ~ positive reinforcement, easy walk harness, gentle leaders, martingales. ~ Prong, choke, and e-collars (when used and fit properly). For example, prong collars should sit high & snug on the neck, just behind the ears. When they sit lower, like a necklace, they are not as effective and can cause damage to the trachea. ***I will only do what works best for your dog and what you are comfortable with!*** - Can work on leash manners and basic training - Experience with special needs and senior animals - Experience caring for dogs, cats, horses, rats, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, birds, and even mini pigs :) - I do not do group walks with other client dogs. Your dog will get individual attention. I do not go to dog parks, unless requested & approved by owner. I do not breed discriminate, I have a 12 year old bully breed mix named Rambo. I've also owned Rottweilers in the past. I have experience in caring for pets with disabilities - Rambo is blind, has anxiety, and severe allergies. I also had a cat named Stumpy for 10 years who had 3 legs and feline AIDS. If you have any special dietary needs I can accommodate you and your pet! I feed my own dog a prey model raw diet. I am very interested in animal health, nutrition, and holistic medicine (but I will only do what is instructed by you and/or your vet). I look forward to caring for your pets!

Linda was great with my 11 lbs Silky Terrier. She walked my dog, fed him and spent some time with him after the walk. Could not have asked for more.

First time anyone has watched Chloe overnight besides my parents and Chloe is 11.5! Linda made me feel at ease and kept me updated on how Chloe was doing! Linda made sure Chloe got all her medicine. Highly recommend Linda

Linda was extremely efficient and professional. She was prompt with her walks and stays and gave us immediate feedback. We felt totally at ease on vacation and did not have to worry about our fur baby while in Linda's care. I would totally recommend Linda. The house was in great order and she even took out the trash and recycling and brought in our mail.
