Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Linda. I would be very happy to care for your short-haired, non-shedding or low shedding small dog in my home. I'm a mom of one rescue dog, Ivy, who is a 12 lb chihuahua and Scottish Terrier mix, along with three older rescue cats. I have cared for animals my whole life in various capacities. I used to volunteer at the AZ Animal Welfare League and then later, fostered fearful dogs for rescues & rehabilitated them so that they could be adopted into loving families. I rescued a fearful dog (lab mix), Rayna, who was terribly abused and adopted her myself. I worked with her and her trainers for many years to help her overcome the nightmare she lived. She passed away last year. I have owned as many as 4 dogs at one time while fostering other dogs. My cats are pretty tolerant of dogs as long as the dogs don't try to harm them. I am patient, loving and compassionate and I know Ivy would be thrilled to have another dog to play with!

My dog is really anxious and he did great!
I canMt say enough great things about Linda as a pet sitter, and a dog lover, and I feel lucky to have her as a resource to watch our pup Suzy, be it for the day or overnight. Linda truly loves dog, and goes above and beyond to bond with the dogs she watches, and to get to know each of their personalities and needs. Linda is loving and affectionate, and above all extremely focused on each dog’s overall well being, making sure they feel secure and happy in her home, and making sure they get exercise and engagement, and a comfortable place to relax. I honestly trust Linda completely with taking care of our Suzy, and Suzy is our world, so having that level of complete and total trust in Linda is the highest compliment I can pay. She’s simply the best dog sitter I’ve known.
I highly recommend Linda. She is an animal lover, and took great care of my dog. She has a dog friendly backyard, and allows lots of outside time. My dog loved playing with her dog. Whatever your needs - dog walking, daycare or overnight stays, Linda will take great care of your pets, and you will not have to worry about anything.
Linda was a fantastic host for our dog Ted. She was very thoughtful to care for him over Thanksgiving and we really appreciated the extra photos and videos. Her place is secure and she has carefully considered how to care for her own pets which gave us peace of mind. Ted had a great time!

I have a block wall around my back yard (pictures of my yard are in the Gallery) My yard has artificial turf, plants and small trees. It's very secure. I don't have a dog door and I never let Ivy out unless I'm with her and watching her. Ivy and I walk in the morning before breakfast and sometimes in the evenings. When inside, Ivy is typically in the same room as I am unless she's playing with the cats. She has tons of toys to play with and beds to sleep in if she chooses. She's very sociable and adaptable and I'm sure she would share her toys with a playmate.

I've found on 2 meet and greets with long-haired dogs that their long hair triggers my asthma so I'm sad to say I can only watch short-haired dogs and non-shedders or low shedders. Also, any dogs that come into my house must be cat friendly. My cats are 14 yrs old, 12 and 11. My oldest cat, Trinny, is the most comfortable around strange dogs. My other two cats will stay high or hide.
A typical day
Walking is a great way to start the day! We walk the neighborhood and check out all the new smells. I have a doggie treadmill that Ivy runs on and would be happy to run any visitors we have as well. We live a fairly quiet life, but enjoy each others' company regardless of what we are doing. I also have interactive games to play that I'm sure Ivy will share.

I'm a semi-retired real estate agent so am home most of the time unless I have an errand to run or appointments. Any dog that I watch would be treated the same as I treat my Ivy. She hangs with me either inside or out in the back yard or taking a walk.
