Dogs Love Me and I Love Them

Pet care experience

I treat dogs, and all animals, with respect by speaking to them gently and firmly giving commands. I pet them and play with them always letting them know I am alpha or the boss. My routine for pet care is to have them be a part of my life is I am staying at their home. I will do what is good for the dog. I will give the dog only dog food, not people food. I am available most hours during the week, occasionally I get together with friends, which would not include your pet. There will be no other people present when I care for your pet in your home or on walks. Note in the following sections regarding if I know dog first aid or CPR or both, or if I can administer oral medication to dogs, or if I can administer injected medication to dogs, I answered "no". However, I have been trained in all these things when I was studying animal health and worked for a couple of years training to be a vet tech. However, I have not done that for a few years and am not registered, so unless your dog is REALLY good about taking oral or injected medication, I am going to pass on these. I would in ALL cases, do whatever I could to save or resuscitate your dog, and call for someone to come to your home or I would take your dog to an emergency hospital. Regarding me providing daily exercise for high-energy dogs - I am saying ONLY if it involves playing with them in their own yard. I prefer no long-distance jogging on my part. Long walks are fine.

I had a last minute trip and Linda responded promptly and took care of my 2 year old Labrador, Anya. Linda did a great job of keeping me updated with pictures and made sure that Anya had lots of playtime and walks. It was a huge comfort for me being able to leave my pup at home knowing she was being well cared for. I would highly recommend Linda and would definetly use her again!

Linda is truly an "animal" person. She has a special affinity for dogs (and cats). You will know this instantly when you meet her and see her response to them--in her approach, voice and eye contact. She raised Bronson, her German Shepherd, from a pup to a large adult male. She learned how to manage him in public with contact with other dogs and children. When Bronson reached an age where he could no longer walk (degenerative myelopathy), she took the time to give him the special care he needed through his final years. You could tell they had a special bond throughout his life. If you're looking for someone who will care of your dog with compassion, experience and a genuine interest in their well-being, Linda is the one you want.

Information Linda H. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know any health or obedience challenges you dog has. Are they diabetic? Will they come on command? Do they know the “off” or “no” or “drop it” commands? Has your dog bitten anyone? If yes, then why? I definitely want to know your veterinarians phone number and location and the last time your dog saw the veterinarian. I like all dogs, from the small one I can pick up to the large ones I can hug.

A typical day

Your dog and I will go on walks where you direct us to go. If you prefer, I will bring your dog to my neighborhood where I typically walk, a quiet neighborhood in the Claremont residential area of zip code 91711. Fun activities will include fetch with my favorite of tennis balls or whatever your dog prefers. We will also play whatever games your dogs likes to play, for example, my dogs have enjoyed chasing the water from the garden hose, catching a frisbee, or practicing obedience commands (my dogs enjoyed finding toys I would hide, especially a certain ball (like the orange ball). I will brush your dog if he or she likes that.
