Every Dog Needs a Doggie Grandma

Pet care experience

I’m a life long dog lover whose family has always included four-footed members. Currently they are Countess, a gorgeous black Greyhound and Tubs, a fat lazy cat who thinks he’s a dog. Since retiring, I’ve fostered Greyhounds for a rescue group & occasionally board dogs for friends. Foster dogs often come with chronic medical problems or injuries. Therefore, I’m experienced in managing health challenges such as administering meds and wound care. I am also willing to take on dogs with behavioral issues such as separation anxiety or excessive barking, but due to safety concerns for my critters, I will not take aggressive dogs.

Linda has been wonderful with our dogs! She's a great communicator, is happy to follow our requests and our dogs are very comfortable with her, with her greyhound Countess, and with spending time in her lovely home. We're so thankful to have found her on Rover!

Linda has been a great sitter for my dog, Dexter, multiple times. I take great comfort in knowing Dexter is happy while I am out of town. I know he is getting plenty of attention and his medication needs are being met. Linda has a nice back yard and keeps a tidy house. Countess (Linda's dog) is an awesome companion for Dexter; they get along great. I also like that Linda does not take more than one dog at a time. On more than one occasion, Linda has been flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. I would not use any other sitter without checking Linda's availability first.

Linda was wonderful with my senior dog, Maci! She cared for her, and loved on her as if she was her own fur baby - thank you Linda!

Linda was absolutely amazing! Just the person you want to care for your pup when traveling. We ended up having to adjust our travel plans a couple times and Linda was super flexible. Our pup is a senior girl who requires medication multiple times a day. Linda was very knowledgeable about how to handle her conditions and made sure Nilla got her medicines on time. We received regular updates and Nilla settled right in. She followed Nilla’s routine and needs to a T. Nilla usually is a little uneasy after being away from home, but after this trip it was like she was coming home from being at a family member’s house, she was that relaxed. Could not appreciate Linda more!

Temperament-I do not accept aggressive dogs due to safety concerns. Medical or Behavioral issues. A typical day

We typically begin our day with a morning romp in the yard, followed by feeding. After Breakfast has settled it’s time for morning walks, either around the neighborhood or the trails around Lewisville Lake. I then settle in to bit of work in my home office with “the pack” lounging around my feet. My dog has an internal alarm clock that go off around 11:00 signaling Doggie Trick ‘n Treat Time. Same thing occurs around 3:00 These dogs have me well trained! Dogs come and go from the backyard whenever they ask…..or I think they need a potty break. Also, I spend a significant amount of time outside gardening so am out there with them. I make a point of supervising outdoor time for new guests until I confirm everyone gets along. For indoor time, we have plenty of dog pillows and toys, but furry guests are encouraged to bring their favorite comfort items, just like toddlers at daycare. Weather permitting (that usually means not oppressively hot), we do an afternoon stroll around the neighborhood. Evening meal is served around 5:00. If I leave to run errands (Usually less than 2 hours) furry guests will be crated.

Availability

I’m retired, but still do some consulting work, exclusively performed from my home office. Therefore, I’m home most of the day so pups won’t be lonely. Your dog will never be left alone for more than 2-4 hours at a time. I prefer to crate our doggie guests while out running errands. Our routine includes daily walks through the neighborhood or if your pup is more adventuresome, walking the trails around Lewisville Lake. My pups and their friends are free to romp in a large fenced backyard whenever they want. If your dog enjoys car rides, he/she is welcome to ride along on errands as my SUV is equipped with a doggie sling and safety screen in the back seat.
