Pet care experience
I have been surrounded by dogs since birth, and was taught to take proper care of them from an early age. Golden Retrievers mainly, and while they are still (secretly) my favorite type of dog I also have a lot of experience with other breeds, large and small. While I currently do not have a pet of my own, I frequently look after those of friends. This includes both dog sitting and walks. I love being outdoors in all kinds of weather, and there really is nothing better than the company of a dog when you are striding along! I am in the process of obtaining qualifications in animal first aid and canine behavior to ensure that I am even better equipped to take care of other people's treasured pets. As a person, I am trustworthy, punctual, patient, calm, and playful, and will make an excellent companion for your dog.

Lin has home boarded my dog, Rusty, several times over the last few years. She takes such good care of him; he bounds in the door to meet her when we drop him off. Lin is knowledgable and confident in handling Rusty and I have no concerns about entrusting her to look after him. She has the ideal set up with a large, secure back garden. If you are looking for someone to walk or home board your dog, I highly recommend you consider Lin.
Lin has looked after our much loved cocker spaniel on many occasions, sometimes a daytime walk but also for longer, including overnight. She is reliable, thoughtful, sensible and affectionate. Maybe the best recommendation would come from the very very waggy tail of my dog. She is always delighted to see Lin and will sometimes stop if we walk past her house, hoping to see her pal that day.
Lin has taken care of our dogs at our home, she has boarded them at hers and she has also come to ours to walk them when we've been out for the day. Lin has a good understanding of canines, yet she also understands that each dog comes with its own temperament and personality and let them " just be dogs " . She is very responsible which makes it so easy for us to leave them in her care. I would recommend Lin to anyone without hesitation. Your dogs will be taken care of and you need not worry about anything.

I live with my son in a house with a large rear garden (tall fence), so pets can have some safe play and outdoor time in addition to walks. We stay in a quiet village with ample opportunity for walks in nearby parks and along quiet country roads. I am also open to boarding, and dogs tend to thrive in our calm and cozy house and love to play/cuddle with my kid when he is around (50-50 with me/his dad). If you would feel more relaxed having me look after your pet in your own home, that is not a problem.

I am very experienced with large/strong dogs, and luckily, I am fit and strong myself. You don't need to worry about me being able to walk your pooch and hold them close when passing other dogs, if necessary. I do appreciate that all dogs have different temperaments, and needs or habits, and will be happy to learn about these so that I can take them into account when looking after your pet.
A typical day
I am mindful that dogs need both physical and mental stimulation, some more than others, and take this into account when looking after a pet. We will normally go for at least one longer walk during a day, plus a couple of shorter ones - plus play time outside in the garden for some grassy back rubs and a game of tug of war. If you are comfortable with your dog being off the lead, there are good opportunities for a wee run and fetch session at our local park (across the road from my house) or at the beach. There will also be plenty of cuddles and downtime.

Availability
I am self employed and work from home, so my schedule is normally very flexible. I will normally be available for dog walks during school hours (between 9 and 3) on weekdays, and usually at other times as well. If it is dog boarding you are after, I am available for that as well. Weekends tend to be just as flexible as weekdays, but availability may differ. Just drop me a line to discuss details :)
