Paws + Play Pups!

Pet care experience

♡ All breeds welcome ♡ Check out my business: Paws + Play Pups! (Message me for a link) I offer Dog Camps, dog walks, and occasional petsitting. I have a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Science and am Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) certified. I also just earned my Master's degree in Human-Canine Life Science. I have worked for various positive-reinforcement dog training facilities throughout New England. I have cared for multiple seniors and super-seniors, including dogs with major mobility issues (including my own 16 year old dog, Ladybug). My personal dog, Bo is a Great Dane mix who is both fully deaf and visually impaired. He has taught me so much about meeting each dog where they're at and adapting to fit the needs of a variety of canines.

Lily is experienced with dogs and also a talented photographer. We always receive beautiful pictures of our dog when she walks him and her descriptions are thorough.

Lily is gentle and patient with animals of many species, she was a dedicated volunteer at Unity Farm Sanctuary in 2018. She cared for dogs, cows, horses, alpaca and more here! She is smart and reliable, I highly recommend her as a dedicated loving caretaker for your dogs.

Lily is the best! Rain or shine, I know Hope will get a nice long walk during the day -- and even a stop at the dog park! I love the photos and thoughtful updates Lily sends after their outings -- it's never fun leaving a dog home alone, but knowing she's having a great time without me makes it easier!

Lily watches our now 16-year-old mini Daschaund Maggie when we go on vacation. She has been watching Maggie for a number of years and knows her needs very well, especially as she ages. Lily allows us to bring Maggie to her home for care and this gives us great ease of mind as Maggie has never had to be placed in a kennel since we adopted her when she was four years old. Lily's calm and caring nature and love of animals is why we asked her to take care of our 9-pound family member. Lily is an amazing dog sitter and we recommend her wholeheartedly.

Safety, trust & environment

The safety of your pup is always top priority! Over the years, I have handled a large range of dogs: From 100lb+ Leonbergers to Chihuahua mixes under 7lbs, from nervous, under-socialized pups to reactive furry friends. Living with one fearful dog and one human- and dog-reactive dog, I have nearly a decade of experience in advocating for your pup is their safety when out on trails or in public. For Dog Camps, I have a full backseat hammock in my car, dog seatbelt, and crash-tested crates. I am clean and organized, my goal is to leave your home as I found it. I always focus on creating a positive and trusting relationship with both you and your dog.

Information Lily M. would like to know about your pet

â–» Does your dog have any medical issues that I should know about? Allergies or food sensitivities? â–» Do they have any behavioral concerns that may affect our interactions (fear of strangers, resource guarding, etc.)? â–» Has your dog struggled with reactivity? If so, is it specific to one stimulus (humans, dogs cars, etc.)? Is it only on leash? â–³ This information will help me keep both myself and your fur baby safe and comfortable during our time together

A typical day

Dog walks include: ✪ A 45-minute walk in your neighborhood ✪ If our walk is cut short due to weather (or if your pup enjoys shorter strolls to stretch their legs), your dog will get playtime and cuddles indoors! ✪ Feeding (if needed) ✪ Photos and a text update to give you peace of mind that your pup is well taken care of! Is your pup a puller on leash? We can work on that! For an additional fee, I will practice loose leash walking, attention around distractions we encounter along the way, and other skills that may come in handy for dogs who have the habit of dragging you down the street. Dog Camp details: Playtime meets outdoor exploration at camp! Your pup will get to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of nature while adventuring with their canine buddies. With a 1 trainer to 2-3 pups ratio, your pup will get ample one-on-one attention from our trainers! Our #1 priority is keeping the group a fun and safe environment for our pups. While we will not be training your pup, many will pick up on general trail manners, recall, and engagement around other dogs. By the time your fur-baby arrives home, they’ll be tuckered out and ready for a long nap! Check out my website for more details!

I have my personal dog with me every other week, so I am able to offer petsitting during my weeks without him home! I run Dog Camps Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. For those days, I am available in the afternoons (1-5pm). I offer dog walks from 8am-6pm. For boarding/housesitting, I am never gone for more than 4 hrs at a time. If they are social and ride well in the car with other pups, I'm happy to bring along dogs I am petsitting for with me for my morning dog camps (off-leash hikes and playtime with other pups)! My Rover calendar does not always accurately reflect my real availability as my actual business is not booked through Rover.
