Oh Happy Dog! I work from home!

Pet care experience

Finally WORKING FROM HOME so I have plenty of time to spoil your dogs! Haven't been able to take any new boardings in quite some time with other things happening in life, but we're much more available and excited to start meeting new dogs now. We LOVE dogs. We're very involved in animal rescue. We've been fostering dogs through One Tail at Time rescue group for years now, and also volunteer at Chicago Animal Care & Control. However, we're currently not fostering, and we will note on here when we are. So if your dog isn't dog-friendly please let us know so we can make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. We're very experienced and can assure you that your pet will be well taken care of. We have experience with many breeds, but due to weight restrictions from our landlord, we cannot have any dogs bigger than 40ish pounds in the apartment :( We live on the second floor in a spacious city apartment, but have plenty of access to grass and long blocks to run around. We currently do not have any children or dogs of our own. I work from home, and my husband is an industrial engineer. I grew up with Boxer dogs and the youngest passed away from cancer in November 2012 at age 11. Both my husband and I were watching him at this point, and we learned a lot by helping him through his battle. We administered various medications and were well prepared whenever he had those horrible seizures. So, we do have experience with special needs. We're extremely careful with any instructions given, and understand the importance of watching a beloved pet. We always treat them as if they were our own. We send plenty of pictures and updates because we know how comforting it is to see your pet happy and wagging while you're away! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions.

Lily was AMAZING with my doxie! It was our first time using Dog Vacay, and he's a rescue with some separation anxiety issues... so his first day staying with her was a little rough for him. She stayed patient and made sure he felt safe and secure—and checked in with me often to ensure he was in good hands. After day 1, he was comfortable and enjoying his vacay. Such a relief when I was 2,000 miles away! I couldn't recommend her enough. We will definitely be using Lily again, she went above and beyond and that really meant a lot to me and my pup. So happy to have found her!

Lily and her husband were fantastic sitters for our 10 year old dog Riley. They were accommodating, flexible, and kept us updated, and we could tell that Riley really loved her stay!

Lily and Jorge do a great job. Zorra loves staying with them and they send cute pictures and updates every day. I've used them more than once and will continue to use them again.

Lily and Jorge are awesome dogsitters! My dog took to them immediately at our meet-n-greet. They were so attentive to his needs and preferences and asked me the type of questions that would ensure he had a happy stay with them. They also provided daily updates with pictures (some with taglines - so cute!) I'm not sure, but I think my dog is going through a little withdrawal from them now that he's back home!

Here's where we'll take our walks We live in an urban area so there are plenty of different types of blocks. Some with lots of grass and trees, others more pavement and businesses. Whatever the doggo likes we'll do! Your dog's sleeping arrangement We like to sleep on the other end of the bed so we can see the dog. We usually put their bed right at our door so he'd be about two feet away or depending on what they dog likes we can put the bed next to our bed. We always leave a nightlight on, and I'm a light sleeper so if the dog wakes up, I wake up. Time I'll spend with your dog I work from home so they'll always have me around! While we're away on errands or family gatherings, we'd like to make sure that he/she is as comfortable as possible with toys, their bed, and their treats and we wouldn't be gone long.
