Caring For Your 🐕 & 🐈 Since 2015

Pet care experience

🐾 ABOUT ME 🐾 I have loved animals ever since I can remember myself! Growing up, I had three pet rats, a hamster, a Guinea pig, and a dog. They all shaped me into somebody who loves and respects animals, but my dog Argo (Chow-Chow/GSD mix) changed my life when he was gifted to me for my 9th birthday. We spent 15 wonderful years together, and my favorite childhood memories revolve around us hiking in the woods, fields, and along lakes in beautiful Latvia (where I'm originally from). He wasn't just a dog to me, he was like my little brother. Dog people will understand. Now I have a 6-year-old rescue Siberian Husky, and she's my baby. She's a ball of energy and is always looking for attention and new friends. Sometimes her excitement turns into leash aggression, so I've learned to be cautious when approaching other dogs on walks - a great skill to have if you're a dog owner or walker! We happen to live with three other dogs (small, medium & large), so I handle a funny bunch of personalities on a daily basis, and I am used to a house full of dogs! 🚑 FUN FACT 🚑 I drive a retired ambulance. My dog and I will embark on a long-term cross-country adventure with it in the fall/winter of 2023. Since it's my only vehicle, I try to use it for transportation whenever possible. However, if, for any reason, parking it at or near your home is not possible, I'm happy to use alternate modes of transportation to do petsittings. 🐾 MY EXPERIENCE 🐾 I started dog walking and pet sitting in 2015 and have been doing it on and off since then. Over the years, I built long-lasting relationships on Rover and other platforms. For a couple of years, I was even running my pet care business with other team members, but unfortunately, the Covid pandemic put an end to it. I have walked almost any kind of dog you can imagine – from miniature to giant breeds to various rescue mutts. There have been three-legged dogs (as I learned, the loss of a leg does not slow them down!); senior dogs that became very dear to my heart; rambunctious puppies; friendly and reactive dogs; and many more. I've also visited many cats and even won over some shyer kitties. I also have years of experience walking two large dogs simultaneously. 🐾 WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT WHEN I CARE FOR YOUR PETS 🐾 For a breakdown of what each service includes, please see a different section of my profile below (currently only offering Housesitting in your home). I always care for your pets like they were my own, which means that I try to get to know them and give what's best for them - whether it be a fast-paced walk or a slower stroll around the neighborhood, a bit of playtime or cuddle after the walk. That said, I always follow your instructions to the best of my ability to ensure that the pet's routines are not disturbed while you're away. I also keep the pet parents in the loop if I notice any potential issues like a soft stool or unwanted behavior. I'm known to send detailed updates and great photos of your pets after walks, visits, and during overnight stays. :)

Liga took excellent care of our 2 cats house sitting in our home for 2 weeks. She played with them daily for exercise and mental stimulation. She kept us updated on their eating habits, behaviors, etc. so we knew they were well-cared for and happy. It allowed us to more fully enjoy vacation. The house was in great condition when we returned too. We highly recommend Liga as a pet sitter!

Liga is amazing!! Our dog has a lot of separation anxiety so she stayed with him for the night so we could go to a concert. She was so communicative, sent lots of photos, and took such good care of Burton. We feel so lucky we found her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for dog walking/sitting in the Detroit area!

🐾 EXTRA PRECAUTIONS 🐾 I always double-check that I've locked the doors behind me, and I don't let dogs off-leash unless I've gotten to know them very well, AND we've discussed the possibility of off-leash time in advance. Having a Siberian Husky, I'm very aware of the dangers of dogs being off-leash at the wrong time and/or in the wrong places. After walks, I make sure your dog has some fresh water before I leave.

Information Līga W. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know: - what your dog's (or cat's) personality is like; - preferred walk route, if any; - how are they with other dogs, in case we encounter any on walks; - are they acceptive of a stranger (me, of course) entering your home when they are alone; - are they allergic to anything; - any other relevant information or experiences with other petsitters/dog walkers!

A typical day

What My Services Include: 1) OVERNIGHT PETSITTING • What to Expect: - I stay at your home overnight with your pets while you're gone. - I work remotely, so I can work from your home and spend most of the day with your pets! - A tired dog is a happy dog, so three 30-minute walks per day are included at no extra charge! - Having their people gone for an extended period of time can be stressful for some pets, so to keep them as comfortable as possible, I'll follow the routines you have with them to the best of my ability. If you can't tell already, I love pets, so they will get plenty of attention and affection from me! - I also love my dog, so I may leave your pets for a few hours to go spend some time with her. That said, if, for any reason, your pets require 100% of my time while you're away, I can accommodate that as well. While I petsit, my dog is with my roommates and their dogs, so she's in good company and well taken care of. - I can send daily written updates with lots of pictures! 2) DOG WALKS - CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE • What to Expect: - I offer 30-minute and 60-minute walks. - These are one-on-one walks (me and your dog/s) around your neighborhood. I'll go at your dog's pace, so if they have lots of energy, we can go for a fast-paced walk, or if they need a slow stroll around the block, I'm happy to do that as well. - Over the years, I have walked countless dogs, so I can quickly adjust to their needs and temperament. I'm happy to follow any instructions you may have for a successful walk. - I'm very aware of my surroundings and great at avoiding other dogs on walks. - After the walk, you'll receive a Rover Card with a detailed note about our time together, photos, and a mapped route that we walked. 3) DROP-IN VISITS - CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE • What to Expect: - I offer 30-minute and 60-minute drop-in visits. - Typically, these are to visit cats, but I've also done drop-in visits for puppies and elderly dogs. Let me know what your pet needs, and I'm happy to accommodate to the best of my ability. - For cat visits, I'll feed them, clean their litterbox, play with them, give some scratches and pets (if that's what they're into), or we can just sit and enjoy each other's company without doing anything. :) - I've visited several cats who are afraid of strangers, so if that's the case, I can be in and out so they can go back to their day with minimal disturbance but a full belly and clean litterbox. - After the visit, you'll receive a Rover Card with a detailed note about our time together and photos.
