Great pet care & awesome photos too

Pet care experience

My first petsitting job was when I was 11 years old and I would care for my neighbor's Airedale Terrier when he would travel to Switzerland for work! After college, I worked at a vet hospital and picked up multiple, repeat petsitting clients who continued to use my services long after I had moved on from the vet clinic. I worked at the non-profit Phoenix Zoo for almost 16 years, but now I work (mostly) remote from home for a non-profit working to end homelessness. Working in the world of non-profits, unfortunately means I've often held a second job to help supplement my income, and I'll be honest part of my motivation as a Rover sitter is to do just that. However, I've been fortunate those second jobs have always been something I've really enjoyed and Rover fits that profile! I don't necessarily expect to develop a friendship with you, but I do expect to earn your trust (which is important to me!) and love your pet and enjoy my time with him/her. I'm hoping to develop a client base like I've had before where I really get to know your pets and you don't even think twice about your time away from home because you trust me fully and know I will be loving and caring for your furry family members as if they were my own.

Liesel is the best! She sends pictures and has a super cute house with a large enclosed yard. I felt very confident about her from start to finish. 5 stars!!

Whenever I have to go on a trip and can’t take my dog Chica, I know that she is in great hands with Liesl. Liesl loves dogs and Chica always gets walks and lots of attention from Liesl. Liesl sends me photos of Chica which I love because I miss her when I’m gone. It’s always nice to see that Chica clearly doesn’t miss me - because her picture show her having so much fun (or relaxing in a cozy dog bed, as the case may be). I trust Liesl unconditionally with the most important dog in my life 💕

Liesl is a happy, dependable and caring dog sitter. She knows more about dog behavior and care than I do!! We have used her several times now - all positive experiences. Her own dog "helps out" - she was is a fun companion for my pup. Loved getting photo and text updates. My pup received all the comforts of home and then some. There is a big walled yard for exploring. They took walks in the neighborhood and along the canal. I trusted Liesl with my pup and will definitely do so again.

Liesl is the best person to watch your dog! You'll never meet a more dedicated animal lover. Liesl has decades of experience with animals of all kinds, especially dogs. She has a great house for pet sitting with a nice backyard for your pup to explore. Since she works from home, she'll always be around to give your dog the love and attention it deserves. Liesl has watched my dogs on multiple occasions and I highly recommend her.

If your dog is coming to my home I live in a single family home with a very secure fenced (block wall) yard. I do not have a dog door. My dog is 11 years old and medium sized (30 lbs). Though she is a very active and "young for her age" dog (she goes on all the adventures with me - kayaking, hiking, camping), during the day she is accustomed to relaxing and napping while still keeping a vigilant ear on the neighborhood happenings and barking each day at the mail carrier. We'll do best welcoming similar "chill" dogs into our home. I can only board dogs in my home (no cats, sorry). I'm always happy to chat about specifics, but in general you may want to consider another overnight boarding sitter if your dog: *is high energy/rambunctious in the house (my house is not large, so spaces to run and play inside are limited) *will tend to want to play relentlessly with my dog (my dog appreciates company, and also likes to have her own space) *has difficultly walking on tile (my house has all tile floors with rugs in appropriate spots in most rooms If I'm visiting your home to care for or walk your pet, I'm comfortable and confident in ensuring your home remains safe and secure for both you and your pets while you're away. For many years, I was solely petsitting in other people's homes (both overnights and daily visits), and I greatly respect the trust it takes to welcome someone into your home in this way. I'm even happy to water a few plants for you or bring in the mail if needed!

I'm excited to learn about your pets - please share any and all information you feel is important for me to know! My dog is super chill and flexible - we have routines, of course, but she's also cool with changes, so we're in a good place to adapt. You know your furry friend best, and I'm happy to do my best to align with YOUR usual routine in relation to feeding schedule, medications, walks, training, etc.

A typical day

I live near a canal path and often walk my dog there and just around our neighborhood. I go for hikes in the Phoenix Mountain Preserves as well, and am happy to take your dog on a hike if agreed upon.

As a child, I grew up taking care of our family's cat(s) and as an adult, I've been a dog owner. Since I have a dog myself, pet care is a usual part of my routine. I can't imagine NOT having animals in the house as company and to care for! If my schedule is open on Rover for petsitting, then I plan to mostly be around the house and your dog will have plenty of company and/or I'll have decent availability to visit to your house/provide walks as needed.
