Libby has been quite the animal lover her entire life. When she was very young, she would catch frogs in our yard and release them. She would sit with all the dogs in the neighborhood. One year she even adopted a giraffe at our zoo and got to feed it. When she was in 5th grade she worked on a school project aimed at educating our community on making our waterways safe for the whale population throughout Puget Sound. When we got our dog, Baxter, I never imagined I would see anyone love a dog more than she does. She is almost what I would consider a dog whisperer. Libby understands his needs at all times and shares that awareness with all dogs she meets. She gets at their level and truly loves all of them, yet knows how to keep them following her commands. We had a wonderful trainer work with Baxter, through which, Libby learned and applied fun and safe training skills. She says she plans on rescuing many dogs when she is older. She will be great at it.
