Vet. Tech. student & animal lover

Pet care experience

Hello! I’m a student at PSC in the Veterinarian Technology program. I have been around all kinds of dogs & cats my whole life. I have 4 years of experience grooming and learning about medical care for animals at my High School’s Veterinary Assistant Academy. During that time I was also a volunteered at an Animal Clinic and volunteered to care for special needs cats with a local cat rescue on my weekends. I got hands on experience of administering medications at the rescues cat house. I love animals dearly and hope to dedicate the rest of my life to animal care. Lia has a great calm energy, and I trusted her with my cats. I appreciated that she took notes during our meet and greet. She sent an update each visit and did a good job cleaning up after my cats. I would definitely book her again!

So far, Lia has been amazing. On the meet and greet, she took meticulous notes even though my dogs didn't require anything special (meds, special care, etc.) So I can't even imagine how she would be taking care of pets that had any special needs. She is thorough in her report card each day and makes sure to provide plenty of updates and pictures for this helicopter pet parent even though I didn't request it. (I was trying to hide my level of crazy). She has been amazing and would recommend her to anyone that needed someone to check in and take care of their pets.

Information Lia D. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your pet has any Special needs or behaviors that I need to be aware of! I’m willing to work out something for any dog as long as there is no human bite history for my own safety. Please warn me if your dog has ANY aggressive tendencies around toys or food. We can meet up prior to the booking time to give your fur baby a chance to get familiar with me and discuss medical or behavioral needs. I’m comfortable in assisting with any need for your pet. I have 2 years of hands-on experience in administering medications to pets. This past year I’ve gained experience in administering not only pet but also human insulin.

A typical day

I believe mental stimulation in very important for both dogs and cats. I love teaching dogs new tricks or simply working on developing the tricks they already know. Cats need metal stimulation just as much as dogs do. Toys are my favorite way to challenge pets minds in the home. My dog’s favorite activity for me to do with them is playing soccer and giving her a kong anytime I leave to soothe her anxiety.
