Pet care experience
I will provide lots of love, attention, long walks, cuddles for your furry friends From a very young age I was involved in animal rescue and fostered dogs and cats. I volunteered at Lithuanian animal welfare organisation PIFAS, fostering cats and dogs at my home,coordinating and advising other volunteers about their foster animals,socialising, behaviour problems,etc.I also was involved in rescues and usually fostered these creatures who needed extra attention, special care or socialising. The past few years I also volunteered with Beagle Freedom Project fostering former research animals, who were rescued from laboratories (also ended up adopting one of them). I feel that through these years I not only gained lots of experience, but also got to know many different dogs and cats as well as made friends for life.I am still in contact with some of the people who adopted dogs I was fostering I moved to Berlin from the States together with my rescue beagle Ragis. I love working part-time as a dog walker and sitter for animals.It's GREAT to be able to spend time with these wonderful creatures, get to know their different personalities and even learn from them. I adore all animals and strongly believe that they should have their own autonomy. I wish that us humans could coexist peacefully with animals without oppressing them. That's why I think taking care of dogs and other animals is so important to me,and why I love doing it! I'm a strong believer in positive encouragement and see dogs not as a property,but rather as friends and a partners I offer *dog walking ; *drop-in visits to check on your loved ones, let them outside, feed etc. etc.; *hosting small and medium dogs in my flat; I am more than happy to care for dogs of any size and age, as well dogs who need extra care or have special needs. The apartment complex I live in has a lift, but there is a barrier when entering the building so it is not fully wheelchair accessible.. Lex always takes such amazing care of our dog. During the most recent stay with Lex, our dog was not feeling great and Lex went way above and beyond to ensure that our dog was comfortable, eating well, and still having fun. My pup instantly took a liking to Lex and Ragis. Lex provided great updates and pictures. I felt very comfortable that my dog was in good hands. Highly recommended :)
Lex threw us a lifeline when our dog sitter cancelled last minute. They were very generous about welcoming our dog into their home on short notice and sent us adorable pictures and updates multiple times a day. They let us know transparently how our dog was doing and if there were any difficulties. Our dog required almost constant supervision due to separation anxiety and Lex showed her a lot of care and kindness. We are very grateful to Lex for all their help!

I always make sure to learn as much about the dog and their needs before welcoming them to my home so i can ensure their safety by knowing their triggers and what makes them comfortable. I never let dogs off leash near the street or cards and also happy to use long (10m) leash for walks. I never leave dogs in my care alone (unless agreed in advance that this okay) and make sure to supervise during the meal time. I took care of many animals in different countries, and more than happy to provide personal references from my Berlin clients upon request too.

Do they have any triggers? What do they like and what are their interests? Can the dog be left at home? Does the dog have a separation anxiety and is not able to stay at home without another human? I always want to make sure that i can accommodate their needs before agreeing to host the dog.
A typical day
It really depends on the dog and their needs. I love taking dogs for a walk to a nearby parks (or plan an outing for example to Grunewald), play fetch or any games they enjoy. At home I have many different dog toys and always happy to offer some calm cuddle time if that’s what the doggie prefers.

Availability
I work part time at school during the week, so my schedule is quite flexible and i am always excited to spend even more times with animals. I share my home with my dog Ragis who has always been an amazing host.
