Pet care experience
Thank you for considering me for taking care of your four-legged family members! I have been an animal lover all my life, growing up with Labradors and German Shepherds, but in 2019 I became heavily involved in the world of animal rescue and rehabilitation. I spent three years volunteering at a local animal shelter and earned countless volunteer hours during that time. While there, I assisted with dog walking, enrichment, clean-up, feeding, and administration of medications. I also spent quite a bit of time caring for the larger animals, such as horses and goats. Throughout my time there, I met many different kinds of animals, all with very different needs.

My experience with Lex is she has a passion for all animals small and large (horses and cows). She has volunteered at a shelter and sanctuary since middle school and has her own pets at home. I have a german shepherd, cat and parrot that she's been caring for two years. When she is caring for my pets I feel like they are being cared for as if I was home. My pets are always excited when Lex comes in. I refer to her as a true animal whisper and highly recommend.

As someone who knows that sometimes it takes longer for an animal to trust, upon arrival I will spend time with your four-legged friend to ensure they are as comfortable with me as possible. A comfortable animal is a happy animal! I will also be sure to send you pictures and videos of your animal, even if it is just a quick drop-in or walk! If I am staying overnight with your animal, I will always be sure to leave your home as clean as possible, including picking up any waste in the backyard!

Let me know of any unique behaviors or quirks that your animal has, so I can be aware. I will care for any breed, but if there are any known issues such as food aggression, not liking a certain area to be touched, aggression with other animals, or anything else, please let me know beforehand. If your animal does have any of these issues, it is not a deal-breaker! If time allows, I am also more than happy to visit your animal with you there before caring for them, just so the introduction to a stranger in their home isn't as scary.
A typical day
If allowed, I will take your dog on walks as many times per day as they need. I will also play with them in an open yard or space within the home! Whether your dog is a cuddler or one who prefers their personal space, I am ready to provide!
