We'll treat your pup like family!
Pet care experience
I grew up with all kinds of animals--dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even a parrot. We always had a family dog. We've had our Goldendoodle, Ozzie, since 2020 and have spent hours training him. I've listened to many hours of podcasts led by professional dog trainers, read several books on dog training, and have seen results as I've trained my own dog using only humane dog training practices. My husband works from home and I am a part-time teacher, so dogs boarding with us will need to be okay with being unsupervised on week days for 2 to 3 hours. Our three kids adore dogs. They have been around Ozzie since he was a puppy and know what to do and not do with dogs. Ozzie is in heaven with doggie playmates and is gentle with all dogs.
Reviews
Leslie was so great and made an effort to accommodate my dog's needs and quirks. My pup was clearly happy to be there and a part of the pack. I highly recommend Leslie!!
Leslie and her family took such great care of our pup. They kept us in the loop and even took him to the emergency vet when a health scare arose. Would recommend!
Outstanding service! My dog loved being there.
Leslie was great! She sent regular updates and our dog always seemed to be enjoying himself, I would absolutely go to her again the next time we need a pet sitter.

In addition to the "Rover Guarantee," I have my own private dog boarding insurance through Kennel Pro. Our front doors both close automatically and we keep gates up when we are boarding dogs. Our yard has a chain link fence with no gaps, but it is standard height, so we can only take dogs who will not jump the fence. I never take guest dogs to dog parks.

Information Leslie V. would like to know about your pet
I require meet-and-greets in my backyard with all our new guest dogs. We want to be sure your dog feels comfortable around little kids (since we have three, aged 7 to 11) and other dogs. Guest dogs will need to be up-to-date on vaccinations, on flea/tick preventative medication, and well-socialized, since we usually have more than one dog boarding at our house in addition to our dog, Ozzie. For safety reasons, we only take friendly dogs. I'll want to know if your dog has any special needs or anything in their medical history that might be helpful to know. I'll send you an information form after we book so I can learn more detailed info about your pup.
A typical day
Your dog will have FUN at our house (and--unlike the local kennels--we don't charge extra for playing fetch or snuggling with your pup! FREE CUDDLES!). Our house feels like a doggy summer camp. The dogs romp together (supervised) in the fenced backyard, then snooze in the house. They usually get plenty of exercise through playing with each other, but I will sometimes take high-energy dogs on walks or runs with me in the neighborhood. During the warmer months, with your permission, we may take a dog or two hiking at Lory State Park or to swim at Horsetooth Reservoir. Older dogs usually find a quiet corner or couch and leave the younger dogs to play.

We will try our best to follow your dog's routine. We separate dogs at feeding time and provide plenty of toys for them to play with. When I leave the house, your dog will be gated in a comfortable area of the house either alone or with another dog or two they get along with so they have some company. I can also leave them in a crate if you prefer that, assuming you provide the crate. We are flexible about sleeping at night. Your dog may either sleep in their crate, on our bedroom floor, or roam the house to find a comfortable place to sleep. (I gate off certain areas of the house at night). If they are used to sleeping in a bed, they usually snuggle up with my daughter in her queen-sized bed.
