Pet care experience
My name is Leslie. I have been a doting animal companion for the past 30 years. I also have been a volunteer at Lange Foundation (a no-kill sanctuary for cats and dogs in the greater Los Angeles area) for the past ten years. I am dedicated to helping animals feel safe, loved and nurtured in their environment! As a volunteer at Lange, I spend 15-20 hours per week with the kennel residents, visitors and staff. My particular focus has been to help animals that are brought from local high-risk shelters adapt to the kennel environment, recover from medical issues and past trauma--and eventually find new homes. If they are not adopted from Lange, they have a Forever Home there! It is key to their well-being to learn to accept the kennel as a happy home and to thrive in their interactions with visitors and co-residents. This may be different for each animal, so I particularly love to see each navigate their way and thrive. I also love working with the public—helping to make a good match if they are looking to adopt. Bringing together the needs of the animals and the needs of the adopters is such an enjoyable process. That said—I see all these animals as individuals. And as a pet parent, I understand how much your animals are important individuals—a true part of your family! It can be stressful to have to leave them for any amount of time. One of the benefits I personally love about Rover is the connected feeling that you get as a user of this service. My own positive experiences here is one reason that I am excited to offer my services and experience to you. As an adult working for years in the fields of customer service and service coordination, I feel well suited to make you and your pet comfortable in the fact that rest that there is someone safe and focused. Someone that is here to help and make this a great experience. I have a flexible schedule, as I work from home. Leslie is one of the most caring and intuitive people I know. Leslie can connect with any animal. I’ve seen her work with some tough cases. She will do anything in her power to make sure an animal trusts her, whether that’s sitting on the floor with a dog for two hours, waiting for them to budge from being too nervous or scared, or a cat that hasn’t had love in a long time. Leslie is exactly the type of person you want with your pet. She doesn’t just do the basic tasks of taking care of an animal, but goes above and beyond in order for them to feel true love.
Leslie is one of the very few people in this world I would trust with my dog or cat. She is reliable, loving, and trustworthy. You would be lucky to have her caring for your pets.
Leslie is a fantastic caregiver for all types of animals! I know her from volunteering with her at The Lange Foundation. She's been wonderful with our quirky cats when she's visited. Leslie shows understanding, patience, and humor when dealing with dogs & cats. She treats each animal she meets as a unique individual and knows how to respond to what they need from her. Some animals need extra love, some need extra space and Leslie understands that. She is completely trustworthy and fabulous to work with.
I've volunteered with Leslie at Lange Foundation in West LA for many years. I have seen first-hand how patient she is with all of the dogs, puppies, cats and kittens, those that healthy and those that are sick and/or injured. She is especially suited to helping the most timid, shy and frightened animals come out of their shell; this is a huge plus for Lange Foundation, since this can be the case with quite a few animals that we rescue from the shelters. Leslie has a very soothing demeanor and interacts with gentleness and kindness always. She really takes time to get to know the individual personalities of all of the animals with whom she spends time. Leslie is very good dog walker for our less exuberant and small to medium sized dogs, especially the ones that can be a bit stubborn to walk and our seniors.
