Providing peace of mind
Pet care experience
I may be new to Rover, but I'm not new to pet care. I have been a professional pet care provider since 2015, when I left my position at UCLA to pursue my love of animals. As an adult who has been in your shoes, I get it. Of course I love animals -- it's my career. But you need more than that from a pet care provider. You need someone with reliable transportation, who shows up on time, every time, rain or shine. Who has years of experience caring for hundreds of animals, and who knows what to do in an emergency. Someone who is observant enough to alert you when a vet visit may be in order. Someone proactive who can solve problems, instead of calling you at work or on vacation. You need peace of mind, from someone like me. It's my track record of delivering exceptional service that has allowed me to stay in business over 9 years. In addition to my 9 years of pet care experience, I have over 20 years of foster experience. I've been a foster mom for both dogs and cats, from bottle babies to geriatric seniors. I have extensive experience administering medications (both liquid and pills), injections, nebulizers, and subQ fluids. Being so active in the rescue community has given me a breadth of experience that is hard to match. In addition to pet care, I've worked in animal transportation, safely delivering hundreds of cats and dogs over the years. I have STA certification, which means I passed a background that gives me special access at LAX. This experience has honed my skills in handling dogs and cats, even in situations they may find stressful. As much experience as I have, I do not rest on my laurels. I continue to take continuing education classes as a member of Pet Sitters International, and I stay-up-to-date on the latest trends and technology. For example, for added peace of mind, I can attach an AirTag to your dog’s collar. It has never happened, but if he were to get away, I would be able to quickly find him, without relying on you or a microchip. If you are looking for reliable, trustworthy pet care, I’d love the opportunity to interview with your precious fur baby.
Reviews
Leslie is an incredible dog walker. She clearly knows dogs and how they work, and my pup loves her! Very highly recommended. Thank you for everything!
Leslie is great! Luna loves her. Even my little reactive senior, Daphne, welcomed her!
Leslie has been a godsend for me and my pup. Sends updates throughout the day and flexible with pick up and drop off times. Rigi always wants to hop out of the car to greet her. She is treated like a family member at Leslie's home. I cannot recommend her strongly enough.
Leslie has helped me so much by taking care of Jupiter! Very responsive, flexible on time, and most importantly took the time to make sure that my dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved in a big environment while I’m at work. I’m a repeating, and happy customer that will highly recommend Leslie!

I have over 20 years experience with cats and dogs, from fostering rescues to transporting pets, working with unfamiliar animals in stressful situations. I've learned a thing or two about safe handling, comforting animals, and building trust. Although I am not a vet, I can recognize conditions that require medical attention, and I have a (lapsed) certification in pet first aid and CPR. Besides my extensive experience, I rely on technology and tools. For example, I have Apple AirTags and IDs with my contact info that I use when walking dogs. This has never happened, but if your doggie got lost, I have the tools to find him, without relying solely on your help, or a microchip reader at the vet. I have a first aid kit at home. I treat your fur babies and your home as if they were my own.

Information Leslie R. would like to know about your pet

A typical day
Dogs and cats spend most of their lives waiting for us. :-( When I spend time with them, I listen to their needs and preferences, and I do what they want. It might be snuggle time with a senior dog, playing with a flirt pole with a cat, or going on a brisk walk by the beach.

Routine? I work with dogs and cats full time - every day is different! In the mornings, I may be giving medication to a cat or I may be airside at LAX, preparing a dog for a flight. Lunch I typically spend walking dogs while mom and dad are at work. Evenings find me feeding dinner, or playing with puppies.
