I met Leslie over 20 years ago when she was a student teacher and I was her supervisor. She went on to teach high school Spanish in Portland for 4 years. Leslie is amazingly experienced and versatile in her work career. After teaching, she owned and managed a large farm with her husband. They had farm animals, and grew specialty produce which they sold to Portland restaurants . Leslie took such compassionate care of the goats, pigs, geese, dogs and cats that they owned. She often found animals abandoned in the countryside and took them to her farm to foster them until she could find a proper home for them. Once she rescued a blue heron from the side of the highway and found a care center that would accept the injured bird. She took the heron there and continued to check up on its progress in rehabilitation. For nearly ten years Leslie has been caregiver to her parents - now just her father. She has provided the needed care herself, and has also organized the team of professional in-house caregivers. She always lays the groundwork by thoroughly researching the situation and then carefully works with the people involved to set up the plan. Leslie is the ultimate in reliability. She will do whatever it is that she commits to doing and she will do it well. She respects animals and will give them her most loving and meticulous care.
