Dog is Love
I grew up caring for dogs, rabbits, chickens, horses, and cows. I have always loved animals! As an adult I have had dogs in my home since my early 30's and have rescued several very challenging dogs - each who turned out to be great companions in their own ways. I am committed to their health and well being and even when someone else might have taken them back because they were too hard to handle, I stick by them. I firmly believe there is no bad dog - just pups who haven't been given the structure they really need or people who don't know what to do. I lost my most challenging dog ever a couple of years ago, I still miss him a lot! We now invite other dogs into our home, however are currently limiting boarding to repeat clients. (New clients, please see re house/dog sitting below!) Our home is calm and stress-free. We have 2 dogs, Phoebe - 11 yrs old, and Luna - 2+ yo. They both get along great will all dogs and are wonderful co-hostesses for our visitors. Luna is small and is sometimes leery of bigger dogs but as long as they respect her boundaries, everyone gets along great. We welcome your pup into our home as one of the family. They hang out with us and do whatever the rest of us are doing. Daily walks, hiking on the weekends, trips to food trucks - adventures big and small. They surely won't be bored and will absolutely be well loved! When I sit at your home, your dog will receive the same loving care as if they came to stay with me. I will work from your place so will be there throughout most of each day, able to pay attention to your furry friend. We'll play and take walks as my work days tend to be pretty spacious with plenty of time to take breaks. When I leave it is for no more than a couple of hours - maybe to meet my partner and dogs for a walk (your dog can come too if it's okay with you!), to do errands, or to have a meal at home. I'll always be with your dog(s) in the evening and overnight too.

My pup was happy and calm when I picked her up after a 3 day stay with Leslie. As others have noted, Leslie is a great communicator, with lots of updates and photos or videos. It's reassuring to see your darling dog having a good time while you're away! Leslie's very organized and careful. Highly recommend.
Our dog loves going to Leslie’s house! He had the best time with walks and ball throwing, and the company of her dogs. Leslie and her partner understand his needs really well and I know he’s in the best hands. Leslie is a fabulous communicator too.

Leslie was such a pleasure to work with! My dog is my whole world, so I’m always nervous leaving her with someone new, but Leslie made me feel completely at ease. She sent daily pictures, videos, and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. I could tell my dog was not only being well cared for, but also having an absolute blast with Leslie, her partner, and their dogs. Leslie is a total pro, and I would absolutely trust her again!
Leslie did a great job with our dog. She sent plenty of updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. We came home to a happy pup and a clean house, and she even offered to take our trash down on trash day without us asking! We would absolutely book her again
Leslie was wonderful and so responsive! She always provided us with updates well before we could even ask for them. This was so helpful since when we are gone, we tend to be really busy. It’s provides peace of mind knowing she will let us know how are dogs are doing. She is also committed to providing exercise to our two larger, high energy GSP/lab mix dogs. Each day she watched them, thy got well over 2 hours of walking and fetching. Thanks Leslie!

Schedule
I am self employed teaching yoga and offering life coaching online so I work from home and am around most of every day. I take our dogs for walks daily and have lots of space in my schedule to play and be with the dogs as needed. My partner is retired so he is also around and loves to take the dogs on little walks around the neighborhood or hang out with them on the couch.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fenced back yard and when appropriate dogs have access as needed through a dog door or we leave the slider open. When that is not appropriate, then we block the doors and create a schedule that works for each dog we care for. I am happy to crate dogs, for those who are crate trained, for the occasional times we are away from home (short periods only, 1 - 2 hours when we are dog sitting) or for those who do fine, they are free in our house with Phoebe and Luna. We will always ensure the safety of both our dogs and your dog before ever leaving them alone. I love training dogs too so I'll work with your dog on their basics including leash walking if you'd like me to. If you have particular ways that you handle your dog, I will also follow those to the best of my ability.

A typical day
I live right near the Larkspur trail and can easily walk to Pilot Butte and Ponderosa Park. For dogs who do well with it, we can also go further afield - we love to go hike the Badlands and many of the other wonderful hikes around Central Oregon. I keep all dogs on leash unless I know them really well and you have approved them being off. We often go camping on the weekends - I'll let you know if that's in our plans, your dog is welcome to come with us. I love to play and cuddle the pups - they'll be spoiled and have a lot of fun.
