Flexible Hours, Convenient Location

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Leslie and I am a dog lady! I specialize in dogs, but am happy to care for most any (city-legal) species. I've personally owned dogs, cats, pot-bellied pigs, squirrels, rats, mice, hamsters, and fish. I have been caring for animals since 1991. I became a dog parent as an adult in 2009. The best part of pet sitting is getting to know the pets we care for and their unique personalities! We love each and every one of our guests as if they were our own family members. I am flexible and have helped out in situations including moving, hospitalization, out-of-town travel, late and early dropoffs, special needs pets, and transporting to or from another boarding location- I am happy to help find a solution to your tricky situation and may be able to help at no extra cost. If you need long-term (over 30 days) care, please message me for rates. LGBTQIA+ Friendy. All are welcome here. I felt a need to put this on my profile after having a client refer to their partner as their "friend" in fear that we might not watch their dog. I found this heartbreaking. Please feel free to be yourself around us! We take note from our dogs: love and accept everyone who isn't mean!

Leslie does it again! She’s the best sitter we’ve used on the app, and we will basically go exclusively with Leslie going forward. Easy to coordinate pickup and drop off, provides photos nearly daily, and our dogs love hers!

Information Leslie D. would like to know about your pet

We are able to accommodate dogs who require medications, special needs, seniors, and all sizes. Our smallest guest is approximately 2 lbs. and our largest guest weighs about 160 lbs. Big or small, we love them all! We cannot accept pets who are aggressive, have fleas, ticks, or other visible parasites, or are not vaccinated. We require a meet and greet prior to the first stay. If you have an emergency or are traveling and cannot do a meet and greet, please contact us and we may consider a waiver on a case by case basis. If you are needing long-term boarding (30 days or longer) for deployment, extended travel, or any other reason, we may be able to offer a significantly reduced rate with a prepaid, refundable medical care deposit OR verified credit card on file with a local vet. Please message us to discuss. We offer reduced rates for boarding caged pets and fish. Please message for a customized quote. We do not have experience caring for birds and only limited experience with reptiles, but are happy to help out if you are not able to find a more experienced sitter. My undergraduate degree is in Zoology, so I do have conceptual knowledge of the needs of a wide variety of animals and am always willing to learn. If you (the humans) have any disabilities, please let us know if you need any assistance or accommodations for meet and greets or pickup/dropoff. Our house has a few steps on the porch to get inside plus an upstairs area. We are located on the 23rd Street Crosstown OKC bus route and have accessible bus stops very close to our home.

A typical day

We have a historic home in Linwood with convenient access to I-44. Our pet parents have LOVED being able to hop on the highway to get to the airport. Since becoming a Great Dane parent, we've arranged the house to facilitate the dogs. Our master bedroom is a spacious Dog Room with two toddler beds, spaces for crates and playtime, and a large storage room for supplies. Our dining room transforms into "The Alley" for morning and evening mealtime. Our living room features durable, well-loved, easy to sanitize leather couches. The living room and Dog Room are the dogs' favorites- they love chasing each other around the couches and playing tug-of-war or wrestling in the spacious dog room. We've put almost everything out of reach and have very few breakable items on low spaces, so our guests are free to wrestle as much as they'd like! We are also mindful of quieter and Senior guests- the unique layout of our two-story, split level home affords us 4 different levels that make it easy for us to split up groups into "quiet" and "rowdy" based on their needs. This is especially useful during busy holidays when we may accept more guests than usual. Our dogs are too big to sleep with us, so we sometimes welcome smaller dogs to sleep in our bed. I am actually allergic to dogs and try to avoid having anyone in the bed, but if a guest is used to sleeping with their parents and becomes stressed, we do allow them in the bed as long as their size permits. We have two XL sized crates and several medium to small sized crates. If your pet is used to running with you daily, let me know and I will be sure to include them when I run (temperature/weather permitting).
