I absolutely love this job! I specialize in the little ones - all the various breeds of cats and dogs up to about ~20 lbs. My top two goals in providing care are rather simple - for the pup to feel comfortable and loved and for the owner/parent to not worry about their pets' care while they are away. CARE: The two most common questions I get asked are: Q: Will you walk my dog? A: Of course! The amount I walk is dependent on the individual dog and their interest/needs. Directly to the rear of my building there is miles and miles of paved trails that I and your dog can explore. For dogs with special needs, I have a walkout patio with lots of grass for easy access potty breaks. Q: Can my dog sleep on your bed? A: Absolutely! Boarding in a new environment can be stressful for dogs so I allow them to nap/sleep wherever they feel most comfortable. (When dogs go home, they go right back to their normal sleeping arrangements and routines).

Leslie took great care with our boys, Bodhi and Bear. This was the first time we left them with a pet sitter. It was reassuring to get regular updates and photos for our boys from Leslie. She did a wonderful job caring for them, giving them plenty of love and activity. They seemed to settle right in and had a great stay. I highly recommend Leslie and will use her again!
Leslie took such wonderful care of my two senior pups who have various special needs. She stayed in close contact with me in the lead up to their stay to ensure she had all instructions and that she had all the appropriate information she needed from me. While I was gone, she sent photos and videos every day, as well as updates about how they were doing and if she saw anything potentially abnormal. She has a great set up at her house with plenty of trails for walks during the day. Leslie is a true professional and I highly recommend her!
Leslie is absolutely amazing! She took such wonderful care of my puppy while I was on vacation for a week. Spoiled her with lots of cuddles, playtime, & walks! My puppy just loves her. She is great with communication and quick responses, sent me updates twice a day with the cutest pics and videos. She is very experienced and truly loves dogs. I will definitely be using her again in the future.
Leslie is the absolute best pet sitter. She is attentive and kind and so responsive. Theo is surrounded by cuddles and love and lots of hurkle-durkle when he stays with Leslie.

POLICIES: * I can accommodate dog beds, crates, pens, wee-wee pads, clothes, diapers, special diets, etc. * I do not go out for drop-ins or other dog walks, but I do go out for errands and activities. My roommate will occasionally watch the pups if I’m gone, but they should be comfortable being left home alone for up to 4 hours. *I predominantly do one client at a time but will occasionally have two overlap in order to accommodate client requests and for holidays. If you see that I am unavailable, please feel free to ask if I can overlap stays. If your dog needs solo boarding, please let me know and I will make sure not to overlap their stay. * Since I predominantly do individual boarding, I require a minimum of 3 nights for any weekend stay from Memorial Day to Labor Day and any holiday. * I offer a $20 discount for an additional dog for boarding. The discount is applied to the regular rate as well as the holiday rate. Regular rate: 55/35 Holiday rate 65/45. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your furry family members!

I’d like to know all the basics and anything else you think I should know or I might like to know about your dog(s)- vet name, eating schedule/free eating, allowed treats, training and commands, energy levels, good with other dogs/kids, pups preferred sleeping arrangements, how your pup likes to be picked up or held, any health conditions or quirks such as licking or chewing, any known stress triggers such as thunderstorms or vacuums and anything else you can think of. For cats I’d like to know all the basics - vet, meds, food, etc and any personality traits or quirks - are they little Houdinis, do they enjoy play time or more the secretive type who like to hide, do they like to be pet, etc.
A typical day
I'm a firm believer that all dogs require mental and physical stimulation- just to varying degrees! I’m most likely to bring your dogs on walks on the beautiful wooded paved trails but I’m also happy to bring your dog to any of his or her favorite places or for doggie play dates. I also frequently take dogs for walks at Lake Anne, Reston Town Center, Lake Fairfax Park and Great Falls National Park.

ABOUT ME: As a longtime owner of Bichons who are now over the rainbow, I know that feeling of being excited to go somewhere and simultaneously being a bit nervous with leaving our animal friends. I’ve been a client of both kennels and Rover - I loved that Rover allowed my pets to maintain much of their daily routines and comforts and it's what I strive for with the care I provide. I don't have any pets of my own at the moment, but I can't go too long without a little furry friend on my lap or in my arms, so I decided to try Rover in the summer of 2022. It has been one of the best decisions I've ever made - it's a perfect fit for me. I'm an active participant in pet siting communities, have taken relevant courses and have private pet sitters' insurance in addition to Rovers guarantee.
