I do have a mini dachshund and a cat at home. If needed i can put them away during your dogs stay to make your dog feel more comfortable and not so much on edge. I will say my cat is pretty timid herself so she will probably go into hiding while your dog is here, as for my dog, I've worked at a boarding facility for two years so shes good around other dogs also. I do have a fenced yard although it's not very big, but i can easily let them out on a leash and go for walks and if needed just let them in the yard supervised for a bit to run loose. I personally don't like to crate my dog but i do have a kennel for her, I wouldn't really crate your dog unless it is requested by you. They will have their own little space to roam around and sleep at of course. I recommend you as the owner to provide bedding and food of course (don't want to upset their stomach) and any of their favorite toys or treats (in case dog has allergies). If not that's not a problem but it would be better for them to have something of theirs while away from home.
