Pet care experience
All my life, which is a lot of years!, I’ve had dogs and cats in my family. In my house growing up, we had two dogs and two cats. All different breeds and all with their own unique personalities. Two of my siblings still have dogs, one is a Border Collie and the other a Border Terrier. I enjoy looking after the pets of family and friends when they are on holiday or on extended weekend trips. I love spending time with their dog, making sure they are safe and well cared for in their absence. I keep things like their daily routine, their feeding and walk times as familiar as possible as this means a happy dog. It also gives peace of mind to the owner when they are away from their much loved pet.

Lesley was brought up in a household where there were cats and dogs and even after leaving home has continued to after our pets when needed. She has always had an affinity with animals and has demonstrated kindness, carefulness and control in all her involvements with them.

I like to know your dog’s daily routine, feeding time, how many walks and any specific activities that your dog is used to doing. I also like to know if there is anything that can trigger a reaction, any particular behaviours, other breeds of dogs and things I should keep an eye out for.
A typical day
I like to make sure that the dogs I look after follow a familiar routine and I always check if there are any activities/walking routes that are out of bounds. I go through their usual daily routine with their owner beforehand. For fun activities, I love taking the dogs I look after for a long walk. Places where there are a variety of things to see and smell! If there are toys or balls that they play with, I’ll take these with us on our walk.
