I am experienced with dogs of all personality, health, and activity levels. I have grown up with animals all my life - I find them fascinating! From my father's hunting dogs to our terriers, each one has left a special paw print on my heart the same way yours have too. Just this past year I lost my childhood fox terrier, Chipper to old age (he lived to be 15!). I believe all animals deserve the best love and care imaginable. Growing up, I naturally became one of the neighborhood pet sitters of dogs, cats, and even lizards and guinea pigs! I found myself about 4 years ago with a pair of kittens that my mother-in-law found and needed care for until she could find them a good home. I never planned on giving them a forever home with me as I was in a job transition, but we all know how that story goes! Fast forward to today and I now have adopted 3 very special cats: Luna, Carlos, and Monty. They are quite the trio and are actually well-trained with several behaviors like high-fives, sit, "place", and "sit pretty". They are even leash-trained. I don't own any dogs, which is funny because I have always been around them! I actually used to beg my husband to let us adopt one and then our kitties came along. I am SO looking forward to giving your fur babies all of the love and care possible and you never know, you may even come home to them showing you a new trick or two, but rest-assured, you'll definitely be coming home to happy eyes and a wagging tail! I do work full time from 9am-5pm during the week for a tech company. I may get to work remote if doing a house sit which is nice (they don't allow dogs at the office!). I like a set schedules in order to be able to plan all of the details for your pet's schedule out, but I am often flexible, and can be available last-minute on the weekends. I can do drop-ins on a lunch break, early evening, or early mornings as well. You can expect my calendar to stay up to date so you don't have to guess! I am a very hard worker and staying active is how I like it :) Right now I am not able to offer care in my own home, however I am located to the Mayfaire and Wrightsville beach area of Wilmington which is a lovely area of town. I am a resident of Landfall and enjoy the parks and Wrightsville Beach loop area for activities, but also available to give your dogs legs a stretch at their favorite local dog park. I steer away from walking on busy roads. I enjoy engaging with animals through their favorite toys and play time. I find that's one of the best ways to warm an animal up to me quickly. I am also very quick to read an animals reactions to situations and surroundings, but also know when to show them that I am in charge and can be trusted by them.
