Mindful of a dogs needs mental/phys
Pet care experience
I grew up with a father who was a true animal lover. Dogs, cats, fish and reptiles have all been a part of my domestic world at one time or another. Currently my wife and I have two 4 year-old dogs who were rescues from Chicago Canine Rescue (one of whom has special needs) and one 15 year-old 6-toed cat. In my past I have done a lot of dog sitting as well as walking for family and friends. Currently my wife and I are both volunteers with Chicago Canine Rescue and do a lot of hands on work with dogs of varying temperaments through them. My primary job is as a part-time teacher at Columbia College Chicago and I am a local film and video artist as well.

As a dog walker, I'd like to know if there are any triggers for a dog such as large trucks, children, people with disabilities or unusual ways of moving about etc.
A typical day
As a dog walker I understand that dogs love routines and often enjoy following a well-tread path through their neighborhood, perhaps even including a stop at the local dog park. The main point I'd have in mind is that a dog be allowed to engage with the world mentally through their senses, mainly sniffing.
