The best care, 1 client at a time.

Pet care experience

***Rates are for private boarding and sitting care. I think you deserve total reassurance that the safety of your dog's environment is fixed. You do not have to worry that there will be five other client's dogs being boarded at the same time. Your pup will get one of one, intentional, and superior care in the comfort of a home. When Leah was ten she got her first dog and signed a "contract" with her parents to take responsibility for training and care. Ever since that day she has been committed to providing the best possible care and training for her animals and the animals of her loved ones. She has helped to train many puppies (large and small) after her beloved Buddy. She has done extensive research on best practices when giving a dog the tools they need to succeed! She studied psychology at the University of Wisconsin, and uses that scientific basis to support her training and care techniques. She is consistent, organized, and committed to safety at all times. She looks forward to helping you give your dog the care, love, and exercise it deserves, and supporting you through helping your dog reach their full potential. Read below for rate details:

Leah did a FABULOUS job of taking care of our cat Fuego. We were gone for a week and Leah came over daily to change her water, give her a can of wet food, replenish the dry food, and provide some treats and love to our precious kitty. Fuego liked Leah right away and started smelling and rubbing up against her leg almost immediately when she first met her. Leah was also very kind about picking up the keys beforehand and accommodating our schedule. Would definitely recommend Leah as a GREAT cat sitter! :)

My cat’s care with Leah went fantastic! She is a nervous kitty when we go away and with Leah’s care we came home to a calm pet. I would definitely use Leah again if available.

Safety, trust & environment

Services I provide when dog sitting: Walking: Sensory Focused Walks: These walks are specific to exercising your dog's brain as well as their body; this can positively effect overall behavior and responsiveness. Sensory walks will consist of a pace set by your pup and plenty of time to sniff, explore, and track. My goal on these walks will be to listen to the needs of your dog on that day and make sure they get the kind of stimulation they need. Often these walks mean a lot of patience on my part and not a lot of distanced covered. Distance walks/runs: These walks are focused on addressing your dog's physical energy needs. We will focus on a quick pace (that can include a bit of jogging if interested) and physical exertion. Training walks: Don't have the time or patience to practice proper walking etiquette with your pup? these walks are for you. On these walks your pup and I will focus on developing the skills to be a prize-winning walker! We will learn to walk on a single side for the duration of the walk, stop and sit at intersections, and maintain slack on the lead (aka no more pulling on the leash). A word of warning, to see results with these walks, consistency is key, if you want your dog to respond to you in the same way, you will need to learn the training communication and practice it on your own walks in order for the training to stick. House Sitting: These overnight stays provide your pup (and or cat) with love, attention, and supervision they need when their best friend can't be there. During these visits I can continue with any training that you have implemented or are trying to apply. This can include basic commands, potty training/communication, etc.

Information Leah W. would like to know about your pet

I would love to know what temperament your dog has, their level of training and responsiveness, and how they respond to strangers and other dogs. Before any care I would like to meet your pup and touch base with the way you like to communicate with your pup. I always want to be on the same page and moving towards a common goal of happiness, health, and the growth of your best friend. That means it's important for me to know how you communicate basic commands, your behavioral expectations, and how much training you would like me to do.

A typical day

If your dog is staying with me, I have a park right across the road as well as a larger park about a seven minute walk away. If staying in your home, depending on your location, I love taking dogs on walks in the many parks around the area or to the local dog park if your dog is familiar. I enjoy playing tug of war with pups, fetch at the local dog park or in my long hallway, and teaching your pup new commands to keep them stimulated and improve their behavior. I also love to give cuddles, belly and butt rubs, and ear scratches!

Availability

House Sitting/Boarding availability: I am generally available for large periods of time for dogs at different levels of care needs. My prices are dependant on the kind of care your pet will need. I take dogs into my home, but can also care for your dog in your home if desired (see cost below). I will never take more than one client's dogs in-home at a time. A quick breakdown is below, if you have any questions or inquiries regarding pricing, please let me know. Five day or less: base rate is $60 Six or more days: base rate is $55 *Base rate is for dogs that can be left for eight hour increments. Price changes based on level of care needed: Six hour increments: +$20 Four hour increments: +$50 Severe separation anxiety (less than two hour increments: +$80 Puppy care (one year or less): +50 (this is stand alone, so you won't also be charged for the above costs unless the puppy needs constant supervision in which case it would be in the two hours or less increments cost bracket) In client's home care: +20 Please check calendar for date specific availability.
