Walks, runs, play and more!

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Leah. I currently have one dog Bumi (like Boomie) and one cat Loki. Loki prefers to stay at home but Bumi joins me for all sorts of adventures I would be more than happy to bring your pups along for! We typically go on at least one mile-long walk or run/day but are happy to go farther and often do. Bumi is an excellent playmate for dogs of all sizes and energy levels (if desired). I am also more than happy to take some time out of my day to give your pooch some one-on-one attention and exercise. I also have obedience training experience. I am not certified, but have years of experience training my own dogs and I am comfortable giving your pup some brain enrichment as well and running through commands like sit, down, stay, come etc. with the use of positive reinforcement.

Leah was so sweet! she really listened to Ty’s needs and was very open to the attention he requires. Bumi is the cutest dog ever- him and Ty got along just fine. I would love to have Ty hang out with Leah again :)

Leah was a great host for my little guy! He was content and as relaxed in her house. I really appreciated the flexibility she provided for the timing of the stay with a last minute trip.

Leah was great! She was very responsive and kind and flexible with our schedule. We loved knowing our dog was having fun all day!

In my own home, I keep my dog crated when I am not present. Its what works best for us and his separation anxiety, and I keep a camera up on him while I'm gone so I can check in throughout the day. In my own home I would ask that pets staying in my home are crate trained and come with the crate. When I am home, my pets are allowed on furniture (so long as they're behaving and not barking etc.), and I will often take breaks from my day to play, snuggle, and give them outside time. However in your home I will abide by whatever standards work best for you and your pets! All are different, so anything I can do to keep them happy I will!

Information Leah M. would like to know about your pet

I am happy to accommodate any special needs your pet might have but excel with high energy dogs. My own dog is a heeler/husky mix, so I am well versed in what breeds like him need. I have past experience working in a vet clinic, and work in the wildlife field, so anything I haven't yet experienced that your pup might need I'm happy to learn. I know some dog first aide, though mostly just the basics. That said I can make sure your pet stays safe and happy while having a blast!

A typical day

I love taking dogs for walks in natural areas where they can get extra stimulation sniffing their surroundings. I often take my own dog for runs, and am happy to provide the same for your pup. I also like to take them to Chappelle Vet Clinics dog park, since it is usually empty and provides an excellent space to run around without getting overwhelmed.
