Husband and wife dog lovers

Pet care experience

*NOTE: We got some great news, our months of work and waiting has paid off and we are bringing home our own rescue on March 15th! We will block out some time in our calendar for her to get adjusted, but she loves other dogs and we expect she will enjoy having Rover buddies. We will open our calendar back up to new clients as soon as she gets settled! We are finally back in town, and we've moved to a house in Cupertino! Both my husband and I grew up owning dogs, his has since passed of age unfortunately, but mine is living in Georgia with my parents as she couldn’t make the move at 14 and I miss her every day. We decided to try Rover because we miss having dogs around and we are loving it! We both adore dogs, but due to our travel schedule we can’t currently commit to owning one full time, so we are very excited to love on your fur babies instead. This is not a business for us, we are purely on here because we love dogs and want them around. We would love to meet you and your dog and form a relationship with them so that they love us and are excited to come back and hang out with us. We love being like coming to grandma’s house for your dogs, special bursts of lots of love and attention in a fun and safe environment. Things to know about us: * We have cameras covering every bit of our home so your dog is always safe and well monitored. * We own a rubber floor Chevy Tahoe so even the biggest pup can (provided they and you are ok with car rides) can fit comfortably and safely in our car, for anything from ability to get to the park, the vet, or just PetSmart for fun and (owner approved) treats. * We both have trained dogs in the past and can enforce any training or behavior you would like, just let us know. * We are comfortable/have experience: * administering medications (except shots) * caring for older dogs * taking them places they need to go, such as groomer appointments * Brushing and bathing (we have a brush, but please bring shampoo if you’d like them to have baths as I don’t want to find an allergy by accident!) * We are not comfortable: * Giving injections * Grooming beyond the basics, such as nail trimming (my dogs in the past is not a representation of your dog and I do not want to do anything that may cause them pain) * We have a full fence around our home and front and back yards for playing. Our home is puppy safe, but we can add ‘doggie proofing’ to your pups needs. Do they love sneaking counter food? Are shoes a chew toy? Just let us know and we will make sure they are safe from all their ‘quirks’. * We are willing to take up to two dogs at once (or more, if all from the same house), but absolutely WILL sit your dog alone at your preference. I keep a note of this and will block off our other booking if you prefer we only have your dog. * I have a special preference for snuggle babies! Your dog will get any and all snuggles they want, they are not allowed in bed but absolutely encouraged to hop up on the couch with me. I often work from the couch, so if they have a special pillow or blankie feel free to send it along and I’ll make them a couch spot with me. We do have two doggie requirements: * IMPORTANT: We can not sit intense barkers. This is our only personality restraint. It is fine if your dog barks at stimuli, but random barking often throughout the day/constantly would be inconsiderate to our neighbors. Again, this is only if you would describe your dog as a barker. Most dogs bark, this is fine.

Very easy! Nice husband/wife combo sitter. They kept me appraised during the stay. My dog was happy and "normal" when I picked him up and during the next 24 hours as we made the transition. This is a good sign for us that he had a good stay.

Leah and Hamilton adore our big St Bernard girl, Zara. You could see how happy Zara was with them, spoilt with their attention and napping in their Air condition room! We would love to bring her back every so often. Thank you!

We are excited to say we have moved from our old unit to a single family home in Cupertino! We rent from a friend who owns the place but moved overseas to be with family for a few years, and he had dogs and actively encourages them so the home is set up to be completely dog friendly. We have a large open floor plan 4 bedroom home as well as a completely fenced in (solid, 7') front and back yard with a designated dog run down the side of the house. Both the front wall and back wall of the home are floor to ceiling windows with sliding glass doors so tons of visibility and mobility in and out. I am constantly available to give love and attention, and my husband will be home in the evenings to love on and play with your fur ball. We currently have no dog of our own (though we have started looking now, will update if we get one), so our full attention will be on yours!

No breed preferences, I believe breed restrictions are silly and every dog is good dog until proven otherwise! The sweetest dog I've ever known was a Pitt and the most violent was a Pom, so I don't believe breed should inform if we watch your dog. We trust that if your dog is violent or poorly behaved you wouldn't want them on a sitter site anyways. Everything I need to know will be in the google document that I will send you or fill out with you. We are actively seeking out a Newfoundland to adopt, though it has been and will continue to be a long process. You can not bring us a dog thats too big unless he's Clifford and can easily clear a 7 foot fence. We adore big and little babies alike.

A typical day

We live on a walking path/sidewalk that many dogs come up and down every day so we can go all around the area! We now have a fenced in yard for playing in so if your dog likes fetch make sure to let us know. I can adapt to any energy level dog.

I work from home so your fur ball will rarely if ever be left alone, with me 24/7! If your pup can not be left alone for any length of time please let me know, I can schedule around that. I would never plan to leave the dog for anything more than a few minutes a day unless otherwise specified (ie. If you are crate training and want some covered cage quiet time, etc.). My husband works long hours but will be home in the evenings to lend a hand and any requested belly rubs. We are open to longer term schedules as we have no plan to leave any time soon, but we can not guarantee we can do things like have your dog every Monday for the next year so if you need firm long term consistency we may not be for you. We are at that age where all our friends are getting married so leave town more than we like but I make sure to keep my calendar updated and if we have a schedule I will inform you as far in advance as I find out.
