Lengthy but please read before you leave your dogs with this sitter! I will start off by saying that I have been a rover user for at least 3 years, and have never had anything but great sitters! And I was hoping this booking would be no different. I had super high hopes and I was of course so thankful she responded for my last minute booking! The meet and greet went well and I felt comfortable leaving my two pups with her. Leah knew we were leaving for the airport at 5 pm and the dogs would need let out as soon as she got there. When Leah arrived in the driveway, I got a notification that she was there from our security system so I was super thrilled! The problem was, I never got a notification that the back door was opened for the dogs to go out. I texted her kinda prompting her FINALLY at 11:30 pm to let the dogs out. The backyard was a mess, and I told her that the dogs paws would need to be cleaned. I left her two old towels by the door. Not once did she clean the dogs paws. Mud was all over my couches, floor, and rug when I got home. Additionally, during our meet and greet-I had told her that I would not like the dogs left longer than 5 hours. She assured me that she had no conflicts. Friday morning she left the house. 5 hours hit, still no car in the driveway. I texted her asking how the dogs were. No response. I called her. No response. At the 7 hour mark, I make other arrangements to know my dogs will be taken care of and so that I could relax on my vacation. And then I sent her a text telling her I was cancelling and that someone would be coming to pick up the dogs. She then responded right away, saying the dogs were doing great and sent me pictures. She obviously didn’t see the camera by the driveway as I knew her car was not there and she was not with the dogs. Once she found out, she got caught in a lie-she back tracked and apologized. I appreciated it, but at that time I had already made other arrangements. What was the biggest problem was after the fact. I asked for a refund because she did not provide the services she was paid to do. I told her that I wanted someone there who loved my dogs, wanted to be there, and take care of them. Not someone who was using Rover as a way to take advantage of making money without even doing the job. She then proceeded to text this, “ I’m not a perfect pet-sitter, and I can’t say it’s my first career-choice. As far as you wanting me to “admit” that I “got caught” using the system… I don’t need to admit anything. As someone who is likely closer to the poverty line than you, I am 100% using the system because fuck the system!!!!” Definitely didn’t expect that and I did not have a response. At this point, I just knew that I needed to warn others who thought that there dogs were getting taken care of while they were gone. My dogs are my children, and I only want the best for them. I am sure everyone on this page feels the same way.

Leah is great! Our puppy loves her and gets much needed exercise playing ball.
