Our dogs are family members

Pet care experience

We love to take care of low energy dogs that can relax with our senior dogs and play with us. I have taken care of my senior dogs for 12 years and Ben took care of his dog for 19 years. One thing that sets us apart from other sitters is that we allow clients to bring their dog to our home at any hour of the day or night. We have gone on trips at odd hours of the night and we understand any time frame you may need. We have experience giving dogs medication & injections and giving dogs baths in our bathtub with a spray nozzle.

Safety, trust & environment

I know that dogs may be scared when in an unfamiliar place without their owners, but we will do everything we can to make your dog feel safe while he/she is with us. We truly believe that dogs are family members, so our dogs are allowed on furniture and beds. There’s nothing more comforting and silly than waking up to my dog beside me and seeing that I have less space than when I fell asleep. We live in a very safe neighborhood right next to an elementary school. There may occasionally be noises from the school buses, sports events, or children after school but we will help your dog adjust to it. We will stick to any schedules you give us regarding how you would like us to care for your dog. Not only do we want your dog to feel safe being in our home but we want to ensure that you feel safe leaving your dog with us.

Information Leah & Benjamin M. would like to know about your pet

There are a few questions that we ask when a new client requests to board with us to ensure the safety of my dogs and 1 requirement that we ask for. Is your dog okay around dogs of the opposite gender or all sizes? (As we may board different dogs of all sizes - male and female). Are they food, toy, or attention aggressive? Some dogs may go towards the same toy when they want to play. Other times they may go close to the other dog while he/she is eating (though we try to keep them separated while they eat). Is your dog allowed to have dog safe human food or is he/she on a strict diet? We kindly request that you bring your own dog food, bowl, toys, and have a collar for your dog to wear so we can keep them safe.

A typical day

We love to spend time with dogs by playing with them, cuddling, or giving them scratches to find the spot that they love to be scratched. Our dogs love to go to the neighborhood park to sniff the grass and look around. Depending on the time of day, there may be small kids or other dogs in the park, but we keep our distance from other dogs to avoid any possible conflicts. We will keep your dog stimulated but allow them to have space when they need it.

Availability

We are home each day of the week for most of the day, only leaving to do small errands or go to appointments. If your dog has severe separation anxiety, we will make sure one of us stays with him/her at all times. Our house is close to a neighborhood park (requiring leashes) and we go for walks based on the time or weather of the day when the sidewalk won’t be too hot. Because I have senior dogs, I cannot go on more than 1 walk a day, and may not be a good fit for dogs that need to be walked a good amount each day. We will do our best to stick to your feeding schedule and any routines your dog has.
