Pet care experience
I have many years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and just about any small animal. I have had multiple dogs, cats, and small animals for the past 15 years, and I currently have 2 dogs. I have fostered for an animal rescue for 3 years, volunteered regularly at a shelter, and regularly volunteer transport for numerous rescues. I love helping. I have had a few years of training with a certified dog trainer as well, so I'm comfortable dealing with most behavioral issues. I have a calm, gentle demeanor and am especially good with timid and fearful dogs. I am not breed or age restrictive at all. - all breeds, sizes, and ages are welcome. I love all of my Rover pups and will treat yours like I do my own. I would love to meet you and your furbabies. I also work part time as a freelance writer, so I make my own schedule. My availability is very flexible and am available most times. For dog walks, I always strive to have a safe time but also very engaging. I am always scanning surroundings for any potential issues before they even arrive. Prevention is the best cure. I am very diligent about keeping doors closed and latched so no dogs or cats escape.
Reviews
Fantastic felt completely at ease leaving Bubba in the care of Leah A. She did a great job keeping me informed and taking care of Bubba
Leah is the best! She made us feel at ease leaving our kittens overnight for the first time. She sent us great pictures, was easy to communicate with, and took great care of our babies. Would definitely recommend her for your pet sitting needs
Repeat booking! Leah has taken care of my dog twice now and has always taken great care of my girl, Mia! I can trust that she is in good hands when we are out of town. She is very attentive and goes above and beyond to make sure your fur baby is taken care of. Highly recommend!
Leah is fabulous with our 2 Dobermans! She sent great pictures and I know we can trust her with them

I always err on the side of caution - if I am unsure about some aspect of your pet's care or health, I will always reach out. I am also very cautious of not letting pets escape coming in or out of doors, fences, etc.

Information Leah A. would like to know about your pet
Medications, allergies, social or behavioral issues, fear aggressive/timid, etc. Also, will the dog(s) be crated or loose in the house when I arrive? Will any meals be needed?
A typical day
On walks, I encourage dogs to explore, sniff, and have fun. If we're just doing a drop-in visit, I start out in the yard for a bathroom break. I provide any special care requested and then play, pet, and spend time with them. I talk with them as a form of companionship as well. I end with another quick potty break. If they are permitted to go to a dog park on the premises, I am extremely careful about any dog interactions. I am very attentive to body language and facial cues. If I don't think it's a safe environment, I won't stay. If there is agility equipment, I teach them how to do them as a form of fun and exercise. If the dog is a puppy, I also include a little time working on basic obedience commands. For cats, I ensure their litter box is clean, and they have fresh water at all times. If they have toys, I play with them. Minimum, I give them attention and pets. :)
