Pet care experience
I have worked as an educator and advocate for children and families my entire career, I am trained in managing maladaptive behavior and trauma. I have been a dog owner/lover for the past 25 years and realize my career skills apply to canines and their families as well. My experience with dogs ranges from puppies, exercise and training, as well as with sick and older dogs. I am warm, compassionate and very trustworthy. I lost my 12 year old, 90lb mountain dog/ shepherd mix in March and have a whole lot of love to give to other dogs - as I have not gotten another one of my own.

Believe me when I tell you, your dog will LOVE spending time with Lea. Lea is especially gifted with noticing an understanding behaviors and linking the emotions to them. I have had the opportunity to see both Lea's relationship with her own dog and then my fur baby when she encouraged me to take that leap. I trust Lea completely with my dog...and my dog practically pushes me over to get to her every chance she gets! I also was extremely appreciative of her timely and thoughtful updates on my dog's time with her while she was being boarded with Lea; the reassurance my doggy was happy enabled me to fully relax on my vacation. Lea's presence and vocal response to animals sends them into calm surrender easily; she is kind of a dog whisperer =) In short, you will not have to worry one iota entrusting your fur baby with Lea. She is a blessing.
Lea has watched our dog and cat on several occasions, at one point, taking care of them while we took a three week trip across the country. Our dog has high anxiety, and Lea did such a wonderful job taking care of her and our new kitten so that we could enjoy our adventure. She is reliable, kind, considerate, tidy, and most of all, loves our animals. I have known her for 25 years and the care she shows to people and animals is exemplary-she feels like part of our family!
Lea looked after my 2 dogs and 4 cats many times. They all love her and I never worried about them when I knew she was taking care of them. She’s an animal lover and a trustworthy person. Walks, feeding & watering, hugs, playtime, and snuggles for all were lovingly provided to my animals by Lea.

I have a large unfenced yard and live in a small walkable neighborhood. There are two small dogs who live in the upstairs portion of the house, I will be providing boarding and care on the terrace level. They are socialized and enjoy playing with other dogs, but don't have to be included if your pet is not interested. I am familiar with crate trained and at-large animals. Regular meals, fresh water, leash walks and a lot of snuggles will be included.

A typical day
I live in great small neighborhood, which is extremely walkable and relaxing. Dogs will have access to toys, food and water and a great sliding door for watching the deer, birds and squirrels outside. I am able to transport in my car to a local nature trail or dog park for more active or extended stay dogs.

Availability
I'm available for boarding and services on the weekends and during the weekday after 3pm. I am looking for additional employment, but for now I am home regularly during the day to care for pets.
