I've cared for properties ranging from urban studio apartments to large rural homes with chickens, bees, and gardens. I've been a homeowner myself and I understand the responsibilities of caring for a home, including details like how to properly season cast iron skillets and how to keep the good knives sharp. I've personally "owned" a diabetic poodle, a golden retriever, and four wonderful cats (though it might be more appropriate to say we belonged to each other! :)). Two of my cats have had urinary problems, and I've cared for cats and dogs with a wide range of health concerns, so I've become quite the expert at handling special dietary needs and administering regular medication. Layne has been a pet sitter for us several times over the last few years and she is always our first choice when we want someone to look after our elderly cat. Layne is a warm, friendly person who always takes ownership of situations and we feel completely confident that our cat is safe and well loved while we are away. Just wow! Layne was such an awesome cat sitter to our nervous old cat PoPo - it was evident that he made friends with Layne right from the start which is so unusual for him! Layne was patient and loving with PoPo (for example Layne kindly let PoPo sleep in her suitcase because he liked it!) and took care of the flat so well, too. Layne sent us regular photo and video updates of PoPo which left us reassured and happy that everything was looked after just as we would have done ourselves, while we were away for 3.5 weeks on the other side of the world in Australia. We would recommend Layne in a heartbeat if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to have her sit for you!

I'd like to know about any medical conditions/medications I may need to administer before you book please. I'd also like to know the pet's normal meal and exercise schedule so I can keep up their routine.
A typical day
I typically wake up, feed the pets breakfast, and then make coffee. I don't tend to eat first thing and am happy to go for walks before my own breakfast. I like taking mid-day play breaks to clear my head and give the pets some exercise, and I always try to walk at dusk because it's my favorite time of the day to be outside.

I work from home and take regular exercise/play breaks to keep my mind fresh and my metabolism working, so I have plenty of time throughout the day to focus on your fur babies. I'm never out of the house all day.
