Pet care experience
I work at an animal clinic so beyond my normal love for dogs I have a bit of extended training. I have two dogs of my own and I've also had both dogs and cats most of my life growing up. I've dealt with dogs in every stage of life and am well trained to do so. I also am good with most "caution" dogs. I say most because some dogs just get too nervous, scared, or protective and therefore don't acclimate as easily. Since I have limited time with the animals at work it can be sometimes difficult to gain their trust and keep it when sometimes they don't return for another month or more. But in cases like this I have the utmost confidence that since I will have more time and space with the pets that it would not be a problem. The dogs are my absolute favorite part of my job. I love the unconditional love that they give and the amount of information that I've learned working at an animal clinic. Not only from my coworkers but what I've learned from all of the animals in general.

I met Lavonda while she was walking her dogs in the neighborhood. I'd seen her walk her dogs pretty often so I wanted to see how she felt about walking my dog. Some days my arthritis prevents me from walking my dog as much as he needs to be walked, so I call her at least twice a week to walk my dog. He gets so excited when he sees her coming up the driveway. I cant tell you how glad I was to meet her. Nitro and I both love her.
Not only is LaVonda a loving person but she also loves pets. She has a rescue that has been with her since she was 3 months old. Not only was I able to witness her house train and potty train her sweet puppy but she also taught her several tricks. She told me that if I let my son get a puppy she would gladly assist. After my son adopted his rescue she did the same for our puppy. Days I have to work early she goes by my house to feed and walk my dog. This has been going on for over a year. He absolutely adores her. She also works at a vet so she's extremely helpful with the upkeep of my dog. My family is so blessed to have her as the caregiver to our sweet dog. I am definitely pleased with all of her hard work.

Information Lavonda S. would like to know about your pet
I would like to know temperament. It is very important not to walk in to a surprise "stranger aggressive" or "food agressive" dog, and so on. Feeding schedule and house rules for the dogs and myself. I am not the type of person who likes going through people's cabinets and such so knowing exactly where everything is is super helpful and I don't feel like I'm intruding on anyone's lives. I would like to know if the dog is a jumper. I love big dogs as well as small but I'm pretty petite so I like to be prepared for what I'm walking into. I don't have a preferred breed. I do prefer medium sized dogs and smaller simply because I am petite, like I've said, but I deal with dogs that weigh close to my own weight on a daily work basis. Sometimes they weigh more! (And I've only been pulled into a wall once, lol.)
A typical day
I have a large back yard that is fenced in and a dog friendly community. My pups and I love strolling (or running lol) through our hilly neighborhood. We all love the exercise and the bonding time! When we aren't inside cuddling, playing fetch, or learning new tricks, were either on one of our walks or out back playing or running through the yard.
