Your dog will be loved like my own

Pet care experience

I've had a dog in my life since I was three. They were my responsibility to take care of as a child and I loved it. My lab/Weimaraner, Emma, passed away in 2021 after 12.5 years. She was my whole world. This is why I started doing Rover so I could fill my heart back up with dog love because I wasn’t quite ready for a new dog of my own. Emma was very sick in the end with a bad infection in her spine that made it difficult for her to get around and be comfortable. Many of my friends said they wished someone would take care of them the way I took care of her because my life revolved around her comfort and schedule. I administered medicine and cooked a variety of food for her each meal when she stopped eating her kibble. I even carried her up the stairs! I would do anything for her and I would do anything for your dog if it made them comfortable while in my care. I will never put your dog in a crate unless you ask, they like it, or they aren't potty trained. I decided after almost two years since my girl passed away that it was time to adopt a puppy. She’s a springer spaniel who loves everything and everyone. I’ve discontinued house sitting and boarding for now until she is a little older. I would love to do drop ins and walk your pups, though.

Lauren was amazing! She sent us check in pics of our sweet Maggie and was very responsive. We felt so comfortable leaving our fur baby with her and will absolutely be connecting with her again for future dog sitting needs!

We are so glad we found Lauren to watch our dog when we made last minute plans to get away for the weekend! She sent updates everyday and our dog seemed so happy while he was there, plus he loved getting to play with so many new toys Lauren had out for him.

Lauren was great with our dog Jackson and we can tell he had a great time while he stayed with her. Lauren sent us regular updates of how everything was going, and made us feel super comfortable leaving Jackson with her. She made the entire process very easy and we would definitely recommend her!

Safety, trust & environment

I like for dogs to be free to roam around my house unless you've requested that they stay in a crate. They're welcome on my couch or bed if that's what they're used to. I live on the second floor with an outdoor patio that they can sunbathe during the day. Outside, the dog will always be leashed for walks. We have a large dog park area right outside my door, which allows them to run off-leash in a fenced-in area. I also have a walking trail behind the complex that I like to go out for walks and runs. I will not take your dog to a public dog park for safety purposes. I will also add that I'm home more than I'm not. I live a quiet life without a lot of excitement or guests.

Information Lauren S. would like to know about your pet

It's important to know whether they get along with children and other dogs. Please share walking habits and whether they pull or are reactive towards other dogs around them. Do they like car rides? Do you want them crated at all? What’s their eating schedule? Are they aggressive with food? Do they take medication? Do they run off when they are off-leash or stay close. If I throw a ball or frisbee will they return it? All dogs are required to be on flea and tick prevention while in my care.

A typical day

During the work week, we'll stay close to home and take walks around my house, or visit one of the nearby trails like Salado or Hardberger for some exercise. On the weekends, we'll go out for long walks and hikes at one of the many trails around town. I really like the Salado trail and Hardberger Park because they're quiet and close to home. If your dog is older, we'll take it easy around my house and take short walks around here or on the paved trail behind my house. I'm pretty spontaneous, so whatever we do, we'll have fun and burn energy.
