Like most dog lovers, I've loved dogs (and other animals) from the time I was young. From the moment we got our first pet, there was no going back, and no living without one. My boyfriend and I have two dogs, Bali and Kiera. Bali , a pug/chihuahua mix, is 12, loves to sleep, sneezes at us when she gets mad, and searches for food around the apartment all day. Kiera is 6 or 7, we're not really sure, as we rescued her from my brother who adopted her to be a guard dog and well...she is quite the opposite. She is incredibly sweet but is scared of mostly everything, including the floor, babies, and puppies, but we're working on it. I can't imagine my life without them or anything happening to them, and I would give your dogs the same care. Bali was always a difficult dog, perhaps because of her breed, so I understand the importance of building trust with pets and not forcing the relationship.
