Pet care experience
Hello, I’m Lauren! I've been a Rover sitter and walker for over three years, and cared for personal pets for over 10 years. Neighbors, family friends, and clients have relied on me to give their fur babies the absolute best care possible, sometimes for as long as a month. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds, as well as cats and puppies as young as 8 weeks. I've also cared for snakes, bearded dragons, frogs, fish, and I work as a feeder/caretaker on a local farm. At the farm, I administer medical care under the instruction of a veterinarian and fulfill daily needs for goats, horses, alpacas, llamas, cows, sheep, chickens, bunnies, camels, and pigs. Animals hold such a special place in my heart, especially cats and dogs, and it's truly my passion to love and care for them. I grew up in Raleigh with my family’s own fluffy feline and sweet lab (who do not live at my current place).

Lauren was responsible, communicative, and took excellent care of our three pets. They have somewhat high needs -- they are all on prescription food and each take medicine daily, and she seemed unfazed. Furthermore, one of our dogs can't be with the other dog and our cat so we introduced Lauren to our switching system and she was really game, especially given her experience working on a farm. She kept our beloved pets safe while we were away (no fights happened) and sent us picture updates. When we got home, everything was in order, they were happy, and she had done everything we had asked and more, even getting laundry going for us in our bedroom. We would love to work with Lauren again and definitely recommend her for anyone else!

Your pet will enjoy the comfort of staying in their own home and walks in their own neighborhood. I avoid taking dogs along busy roads, avoid other dogs and dog parks if they are reactive, let them stop to sniff the flowers, and help them practice good leash manners. In the house, I make sure pets don’t have access to potential toxins or choking hazards, and always keep a full bowl of fresh water out. I give each pet lots of love and attention no matter if it’s a drop-in visit or just a walk. Sticking to a pet’s typical personal routine is important to me to ensure that they’re getting the consistent care they deserve. Leave treats out and I’ll give your pet one before I leave!

No breed or size preferences! All I need to know is if your pet is aggressive towards other dogs or animals, if they need any special care or medications, and anything I should be sure to do or not do (crate them, take lengthy walks, interact with other dogs, etc). I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
A typical day
Your dog or cat will enjoy play time, attention, and lots of love while I’m there! I love to take dogs on walks through grassy sidewalks and areas in your neighborhood or to a nearby dog park to play (with approval). Quality time and pets are most dogs’ love language, and I’m happy provide. Having grown up with a cat, I also understand cat body language and how to play with cats differently from dogs. I tend to send pictures during each visit so that you know how much your pet is enjoying their staycation.

I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill this spring studying environmental policy. I’m currently spending my days doing half pet care and half job searching! Walking and caring for pets is always a wonderful part of my day, and I look forward to each and every booking I get.
