Pet care experience
Growing up in a family with pets of all shapes and sizes, I have always loved animals, particularly dogs. I have experience with a variety of breeds. We had large/extra large breeds-- a lab and Saint Bernard-- as kids that I cared for. Later on, I worked as nanny for years for a family that had a sweet rottweiler mix and a cranky, hilarious manchester terrier. Over the years I have cared for huskies, border collies, scotch collies, schnauzers, golden retrievers, and several small-breed dogs. I have always been a dog-lover (my birthday cakes as a kid always had a dog-theme) and became passionate about training them as I grew up. I currently own a darling Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who has been my hiking and cuddle buddy for 10 years. She hiked many mountains with me out east before we moved to Bloomington. Now we enjoy walks on the bike path and finding new trails in the surrounding area to explore. We'd love to have your pup join us!

This was our first time using Rover, we are beyond happy with Lauren and her service. She allowed a meet and greet prior to confirming her stay. Lauren kept us updated with text and pictures which took all worries away. Her home is clean and welcoming, we will use her for all future stays!! If your a helicopter mommy like me, she is the perfect fit. I can’t thank her enough 😊
Lauren and her husband were really nice to Luna, and it looked like Luna had a lot of fun with them. Lauren made sure Luna got her walks and meals every day. I could tell Luna felt safe and had a good time staying with them.
Lauren was the go-to person we asked to care for our border collie when we were traveling for many years (until we moved out of state). She is kind and conscientious. Being an active and outdoor-loving person herself, she always helped him to get plenty of play and exercise when he stayed with her. Our dog absolutely recognized Lauren as a friend and was eager to see her every time. Lauren is trustworthy, communicates well and gives the best of care.
Lauren will be an asset to your company. She has taken care of our dogs and other fur babies for many years. Lauren is gentle and soft spoken and very patient. She is an animal lover and the animals she care for take to her quickly and show they feel safe with her.

We have a fenced back yard, although I wouldn't let large, athletic dogs be outside unattended since it's not 6 feet tall. The dogs would have access to the entire first floor, though we may put a gate at the kitchen door for counter-surfers 😉 We have multiple areas for the dogs in case we are watching multiple and they need to be fed separately. We may have my older dog stay upstairs since at her age, she mostly likes to sleep and isn't playful with dogs anymore. I am comfortable giving medicine to dogs (my older pup gets daily pills). We don't allow our pup on the couch unless invited up, but if your pup is used to that, we can cover the couches. It will just be my husband and I at home, no small kids. If we have friends visit who are allergic to dogs, we have a room downstairs for the dog to stay in while guests are here.

A typical day

I am a homemaker, so while I do several weekly activities outside the home, I am mostly at the house during the week and your pet will get lots of attention. I love to take daily walks and would enjoy having a furry companion! My husband also works from home 4/5 days of the week.
